'The Daydream Disco Mix Series' aims to bring you the best disco, soul, funk and house vibes from artists both established and upcoming. Each mix is made up of 10 of our guests favourites tracks of the moment. Grooving straight into this months series is the Berlin based selector - Almost Famous.
	
Almost Famous is a Berlin based DJ. Growing up with 90s hip hop, he gradually found his way to house and disco music through funk and soul. While he always had a passion for sharing music and collecting records, he started DJing only a few years back. 

What started as a gig for fun at a friend’s birthday party slowly but surely developed into a real passion for mixing music on a regular basis. Together with a couple of friends, Almost Famous organizes and hosts ‘Not In My House’ and ‘Disko, No Disko’, both recurring club nights at Humboldthain Club in Berlin.

Straight from the 80s, bringing the Disco & House tunes back on the dance floors. Pack your funky shirts and get ready! Still not a star, but Almost Famous.

From New Zealand, live in Berlin, long time lover of House - started DJing in the late 90s. Ran a famous bi-monthly club night in Auckland for ten years called Chicago Disco - headlined five or six national tours with it; did a lot of partying, travelling, promoting, DJing. And then moved internationally in 2013 to focus on production while living in the gorgeous, dark souled, creative city that is Berlin.
Presently I teach electronic music production and associated subjects at dBs Berlin (https://www.dbsmusic.net/ - a brilliant school currently undergoing a name change to Catalyst - Institute for Creative Arts and Technology), write music, go jogging. Rinse, repeat.
This mix is a balm for the present moment. It’s been an epicly weird year - so I set out to locate the tunes that would help ease the pressure for me personally... Hopefully it helps you to feel better too. x
