For our 39th podcast we have no one less than Prunk.

Dutch artist Prunk is very much part of the new breed. He grew up around classic house music and started collecting records before he was even a teenager. But rather than copying early inspirations like Mark Farina and Ian Pooley, he has learnt to speak his own musical language as both a DJ and a producer. This has made him a slow burning but now breakout talent who run his own influential PIV Records, and regularly appears on other vital outlets like King Street Sounds, Nervous Records, Defected and EWax. After more than a decade in the DJ game, Prunk has vast reserves of experience to draw on. Testament to his skill is the fact he is a resident for the widely admired Straf_Werk, and can also hold things down for 10 hours – as he did recently at Thuishaven – or represent for ADE on a special BBC Radio 1 show last year.

Prunk is also a regular at DGTL, Awakenings and frequent headliner in the best clubs in Spain, Russia, Colombia, Monaco, Ibiza and many other places around the world. Next to all this, Prunk has also founded and established his PIV Records label as a much loved crew of like minded artists with a close following of fans all over Europe. Mixing house history with innovation, the label regularly tops music platforms like Beatport, Traxsource and Deejay.de with sold out releases worldwide.

Propelled by a timeless sense of sound and immaculate production, Italian deep house craftsman Tuccillo has slowly forged a path to global recognition through his consistently brilliant musical creations. For his latest offering, Tuccilo returns home to 'House of Tucci' for the label's second release - 'Daylight EP', a three-track treasure trove of deepness that combines vintage Tony Tofly vocals with 100% Tucci analog goodness. To complete, ‘Runner’ on the flip takes a more rhythmic approach, with a powerful and hypnotic bassline that takes you directly on the dance-floor.

Very happy to have reached that magical 10 Year milestone in my podcast series, without any breaks, so this one is my Anniversary mix made by the PIV founder Prunk, Hope you all enjoy this one with 100% unreleased grooves <3

I could type on for hours about the respect and admiration that is shared between myself and Caspa. We've grown as friends, and as individuals and through our entire relationship, there was always a general theme that kept showing up in our chats. It was genuine belief in the other party. Having someone in your corner who believes in you is invaluable, and that's why he and I have latched on so tightly to our friendship. 

But enough gushy stuff (lol) lets highlight this freak of a DJ real quick. DJ Caspa is one of the most highly respected Underground DJs. Full Stop. The guys a freakin legend, but that title didn't come easy, and it definitely wasn't bought through an algorithm. Since the late 80's early 90's, Caspa has been a cornerstone for the house community. His respect in the scene was earned from constant support of other artists (big inspiration for me!) and always pushing the new guys who deserved the recognition. Without Caspa, there would have never been a Selected Timbres series, and I'm not even sure I would be so heavily involved in the scene. So if you've ever received my support, you can give him a thank you too lol.

This mix has been in the works for over a year. We both knew there was going to be a guest mix from Caspa, but (as always) he wanted me to start this up on my own with my own guests that I've got in my back pocket. BUT.. here we are :) one year later and DJ Caspa is lucky number 13 in the series!

I was recently asked by the un-mistaken duo :: FEEL MY BICEP :)))) to provide a mix for their blog feelmybicep.com  which as you can imagine was a real pleasure for me... I really don't need to say anything about Bicep as they are on top of the game and a favourite of many many people including me...
