EATBRAIN gain another slick addition to the collective, with the latest release landing from relatively fresh Antwerp-based duo,
HYPOXIA (Titan Records // DnB Arena). Members Athys and Syntopia craft a brand of Tech and Neuro DnB with a bleak
aesthetic influenced by the more sinister areas of Psychology. The ‘ANOVA’ EP takes its name from the Analysis Of Variance
statistical method, with the change here being the sinister journey into an internal void during the inception of its components.

The opening track ‘SUSPICIOUS MINDS’, leads the EP with beguiling morose pads punctuated by chunky half-step percussion,
quickly giving way to the track’s stripped-down rolling drop. Laced with tight growling synths, it never loses its undertone of sinister
nostalgia - with a breakdown akin to a descent into frightened eyes, building back into the drop with a rapid widening of pupils.

Trendkill HQ are extremely excited to have the super talented Current Value gracing their label with a brand new single, which also features a collaboration with label owner Prolix. 

 Prolix says of the release: 'I have been a fan of Tim (Current Value) for many years, and especially his most recent output. Most people will know him for his 'hard as nails' sound, but recently he has been writing more straight up 'Neuro' for labels such as Blackout and Critical. I was really happy to get my hands on 'Get Down To It' for the label, and it has caused major damage every time I have played it in the clubs, so I'm looking forward to getting it out to the fans and other DJs. On the flip I got the chance to work with him in the studio and I think we made something pretty hard hitting!

Alongside the delicious aggressiveness that made Audio so renowned, his ‘Beastmode’ LP cracks him open like you’ve never heard him before. Fiercely powerful, yet intricately different, each cut from his debut album on the Ram Records imprint packs a very different punch whilst hitting with the same fierceness and wealth of talent. 

‘Beastmode’ reflects all his output to date. Whether it’s the old-school flavor of virus, or the steppy-unapologetic riddims he’s served up for Ram, this record won’t leave you questioning who rules supreme over the genre’s murkier waters. 

Whether it’s the half-time, two stepping ‘Move it Along’ or the pulsing, snarling undertones of ‘Thud’, you’re blessed with a barrage full of fresh sonic assaults. ‘Thunder Ridge’ serves as the perfect opener, a brand new record with synth-laddered foreboding intro which pushes you below the surf. Tinkling hi-hats and a distorted LFO adds shockwaves throughout the mix, submerging you even deeper. Urgent, pulsing and nastily crafted, this is Audio at his most fearsome. 

On the other hand, ‘Rogue’ presents a clanking, runaway riddim that snaps its teeth with every break. Stacked between ominous build ups and jaunty samples, the second drop flairs out as angrily as the first, demonstrating Audio’s ingenious sound design. 

And flipping the switch once again is ‘Sovereign’, a nod to the producer’s roots and a track that gradually builds its presence throughout. Between warbling stabs and peddled kick drum, you’re drawn by the aural nerves. Elevating beat patterns set you up for another descent into madness, through a stringently tight composition. 

Featuring artists, such as drum & bass heavyweight Prolix, also take center stage. Their collaboration ‘Creatures’, alongside the revered lyricist Nuklear MC, adds a welcomed surprise. ‘Creatures’ delivers everything you’d expect and more; steroid-pumped subs, the dark overture of Nuklear and apocalyptic atmospherics. 

Also featured on its weighty track listing are singles ‘Make it Happen’, ‘Overdose’, ‘Drop it Human’ and ‘Shatterdome’. They were a precursor for what was to come, which signified one of the darkest, most uncompromising productions yet on Ram Records… In all of its twenty five years of history.

Snow crunched lightly under his paws as he made his way across the forest floor in the still darkness. Faint light from the pale moon penetrating the depths of the woods occasionally rippled across his fur as he moved stealthily towards the perimeter. The fur around his mouth carried the stains of the many carcasses those pointed teeth had torn into as their dark-tinted red warmth slipped away beneath his fearsome frame. His blood appetite freshly sated, it was time to return to his brothers. The torn and broken light of the forest’s horizon spread across his good eye, that portal to the open plains and the mountains beyond. Smells of the forest’s life and the subtle sounds of the slowly beating hearts of its hibernating inhabitants surrounded him, each distinctly offering the promise and debt of the food they would become with the cyclic melt. His iris shrunk as he padded out into the pure white snow plain, their god, the mountain, towering above in all of its bleak awe. A frozen gust blew across his fur, carrying with it the sound of the distant bloodhowl of his kind, a twisted mournful note full of rage that resonated with his instinct, triggering adrenaline and flooding his form with anger. Quickening his pace, he darted for the pack, lips curled back against fangs that would soon let another pathetic usurper’s lifeforce spill onto nature’s coldest of blankets. The lair of the Wölfe lay ahead, his kind... connected in cruel mortality.

EATBRAIN welcome FOURWARD and his brothers to the fold, bringing a wealth of deadly talent to the label in the forms of SIGNAL and PHENTIX on production and the sharply delivered vocals of the legendary VIRUS SYNDICATE.
