Back at our mammoth Stay True Scotland broadcast earlier this month, one track came real close to bringing The Caves' roof down during Nina Kraviz's powerhouse headline set. "I Wanna Go Bang" very nearly executed its titular statement – well, if the song was more about wrecking balls and less about...oh, never mind.

The vocals that stalk the track, so wholly devoid of humanity, rub up against razor-sharp claps and serious bounce in the subs. It's weighty warehouse techno of the highest order, set to devastate dark basements and big tents alike throughout the year. Simply put: Icelandic producer Bjarki has delivered a bomb.

Hailing from Taapion Records, based in Paris, France, co-label owner, Shlømo makes his debut on Wolfskuil Limited with ‘Avadon’ featuring a remix from none other than Antigone, one of Paris’ strong contenders who is also a part of the Taapion family releasing a track on its second release as well as recent EP on Token Records.

Shlømo, a young yet accomplished artist illustrates his maturity with complex rhythms in ‘Avadon Part 1’ by combining soft atmospheric textures with heavy pulsating bass and driving techno essentials. Conversely on ‘Avadon Part 2’ similar elements translate through more erratic and express percussions to introduce spatial effervescence sparking an expressive catharsis. In the Antigone remix of ‘Avadon Part 1’ the original track is flipped upside down as key components are more sensitive, purified and emotional leaving a lasting impression on the listener.

Both Shlømo and Antigone demonstrate their ability to stay true to their own personal style, a very key component in progressive artists.

One of the most eagerly anticipated electronic albums of 2012 is finally released! After a series of groundbreaking singles: Pain In the Ass, Im Week and Ghetto Kraviz (featured here) Muscovite Nina Kraviz is set to release her eponymously titled debut artist album on Radio Slaves superb Rekids imprint. Ninas album is a combination of stripped-bare house, deepest Detroit sounds via beautifully ambient pockets and more soul infused slo-mo jams, all coated with an authentic analogue finish and Nina exquisite vocals. The music is emotive and engaging, whilst being something truly original and inspirational. The album features collaborations with Hard Ton and King Aus. Playing out like a full artistic statement rather than just a collection of tracks, the odd time signatures, innocent and waify vocals, muted acid lines and hypnotic loops layered up by Nina all work subtly at pulling you into her world. A superbly, executed and accomplished debut album that has already set the bar high for electronic albums this year.
