Originally from Paris, Arnaud Muller began exploring various genres and performing throughout Europe over 20 years ago. Over time, his sound has organically developed,  but his roots continue to provide the deep base for his uplifting vibes. 

Carrying  synthesized melodies that take his audiences on a journey, Arnaud is a master downtempo storyteller, incorporating deep house beats, inspiring whimsy and a tempo that  resonates, all while building a narrative without leaving one feeling confined within  musical boundaries. 

With soulful notes and melodic elements at the core of his sets, he  creates an inspiring atmosphere that is rich, dreamy and dark, invoking a sense of  movement through limitations among his audiences.

We are starting the trend of sharing amazing sets from our evening at The Nightsky Celebration one after the other. The sets have become our obsession. Wow, this set really transforms us back to that epic night!

With Madmotormiquel he took us on cosmic trips, disco dances, all underneath the red nightlights. We are always immensely captivated by his music and are always huge fans of his music. He is a true musical genius who understands how to elevate the audience.

Afrika Burn 2023 - Spiritual Sunset: A Melodic Techno Journey on Tuesday - @MBOMBO - .WAV

This year, while navigating change and the dissolution of my once concrete understanding of reality, I’ve found myself naturally anchored to the sacred, ritualistic aspects of the morning. Journalling, movement, and meditation have undoubtedly kept me from blowing away amidst the storm. 

It is such a universally acknowledged truth that the morning is a time of virtue, expansion, consciousness, and clarity that we barely bother to question it. 

But what of the night? 

Last week, as I lay on the dusty Karoo, staring out into the infinite expanse of stars, I realised that she has just as much to teach us.

She beckons us to surrender our self-awareness in the depths of her embrace, to become one amongst a crowd, safe under the cloak of her darkness. She invites us to revel and relax in the unknown, to lose ourselves in chaos and confusion, to dance and become entranced. In her infinite space, we are able to abandon all conscious thought and premeditation. She shows us a different path to clarity — if only we would welcome her in.

For the night is also sacred.

THE LOST BOYS - TULPA - Wednesday Night @ AFRIKABURN 2023

Recording from a special night at CAMP - a co-created, participatory music and arts festival near New York City. I had the opportunity to lead the musical creative direction and programming for this year's event, and was overcome with joy to witness so many different musicians coming together to share their gifts. 

This set was re-recorded, as the original file from the live event got unfortunately lost. For it, I had the amazing opportunity to co-create live with poet and performer Lauren Ducrey, and with the limitlessly creative and talented guitarist and vocalist, Mendeleyev. 

The journey takes us through some of my favorite selections of genre-bending acts in the downtempo global downtempo landscape.

The past weeks showed vividly that whether we wanted it or not, we are part of something bigger than ourselves, be it a family or a community, some global ideas or plans, a continent or a constellation. Doesn’t really matter what we are part of, what matters is that we need each other. Maybe once these days are gone, such feelings will go away too, but we’ll know we’ll be needing each other someday somehow. @elias-dore’s podcast is part of that syndrome. A lot of people teamed up to make stuff happen, so that you could listen to the mix, and once you do, you automatically join the list of those suffering from the syndrome. You are definitely a part of this project, and that is very important.
