You like Darragh Ashe-Bowden?
His early work was a little too new wave for my taste. But when this came out in '18, I think he really came into his own, commercially and artistically. The whole song has a clear, crisp sound, and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the songs a big boost. He's been compared to Elvis Costello, but I think Huey has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

In '18, Darragh released this; Asockwithnoshoewisworsethanamanwithnowoman! His most accomplished record. I think his undisputed masterpiece is a cover he does of Ghostriders in the Sky. A song so catchy, most people probably don't listen to the lyrics. But they should, because it's not just about the pleasures of conformity and the importance of trends. It's also a personal statement about the artist himself. Hey, Paul!

Alfonso Films
Claire Byrne, Jo Halpin and Emma Wall form a filmmaking trio with collective passion and enthusiasm for all facets of Irish film. Their process is particularly interesting as their positions vary from production to production; swapping from writer to producer to director.  

With early beginnings borne from the Filmbase training course, Alfonso have worked on various shorts, screened at festivals and events throughout Ireland. Their debut short film 'Spent' appeared in the Women in Television and Film Ireland Showcase in 2018, and they have been selected as Bumble's five shorts for the first ever Female Film Force. 

I'm sure you'll agree that Alfonso are forces to be reckoned with!

From forming initially to play at house parties to being hailed as "Dublin math-rock revival" (Nialler9), Tribal Dance have quickly captured the attention of national/international music blogs and radio stations due to their energetic, intense and dramatic live performances.

Influenced by a wide range of musical ideas from artists such as Radiohead, Miles Davis, BadBadNotGood and The Silents, their songs explore explore the boundaries of music genres while still maintaining core elements of their unique sound. 

Their debut single “Flongo” released in August 2017, sent out waves of excitement and received extremely positive reviews from music blogs and nationwide newspapers as well as national and international radio play, which contributed to a sold out single release show. The band have been showcased in Whelan's Ones to Watch along with headlining a special Nialler9 showcase The Button Factory as well as unforgettable performance to a packed tent at KnockanStockan 2018.

Tribal Dance have been working on multiple releases (including a collaboration with Ben Bix of Meltybrains? and Sim Simma) planned for 2019 and intend on making a mark on the music and creative scene at home and abroad.
