Blue

Fun with a 12" single for "Mellow Blow" by Barrabas. Much of the track was sampled from the record. I beefed up the drum track with a kick sample, a snare sample and some percussion samples, and I also added a break; threw some synth sweeps in there for good measure; I think there may even be a James Brown sample in there. I recorded myself doing some scat and added that in as well towards the end...

Before Tribient, there was Son's of Tull. Another track from the same recording session with Dave. I was listening to a lot of industrial and EBM back then (Puppy, Ministry, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, FLA....). I am a bit embarrassed to be sharing this track, but hey, WTH. Sorry about the quality, it's a dub I found on cassette which I then transferred to WAV.

Again, four track to cassette, a Casio keyboard and a Boss DR-660 midi'd up to a PCjr, using Cakewalk Apprentice as my sequencer, a mic and a Boss delay pedal. : )

Tribient is David Cartenuto, Brian Bonifacio, and Zeke Schluderberg. Buddy the Morkie, whose instrument of choice is a Squeaky Toy, is also a part time band member. Sounds you will hear on Tribient tracks come from a Juno 60, a Korg X5, a Yamaha SU-700, a Korg ElecTribe/S ES-1, as well as many traditional instruments including guitars, basses, harmonica, piano, dulcimer, and drums. Most tracks are recorded live. Then they are edited and further produced in studio.
