Nphonix has never been an artist to settle into a single groove. His journey through electronic music began in the high-velocity realms of Drum 'n' Bass, but his current interests lie in weaving more intricate rhythmic patterns. With a respected history on labels like R&S and Hyperboloid, he now arrives at Tripalium Corp for his latest endeavour: The "Demonz" EP is a collaborative effort, drawing on the talents of producers like Architect, Fisky, and Bleep, and it presents itself as a unified assault of five distinct club tracks. Each one is engineered for a discerning crowd that values both musical adventure and pure physical response, merging a wide array of inspirations into a cohesive, frenzied package.

Premiere here, the title track, fruit of the collaboration with Architect, fully embodies this ethos by forging a compelling alliance between Breakbeat's rugged swing and Techno's driving force. It creates a mood that is both shadowy and irresistibly upbeat, a difficult balance to achieve. The track feels like a night drive through a neon-lit city, where the percussion provides a skittering, unpredictable engine and the low-end hums with a palpable sense of urgency. This is a clever and potent piece of work, drawing its power from textural tension and rhythmic ingenuity rather than overt genre homage.
