For Darius Syrossian’s remix, the Defected affiliate pulls back on the original’s elements, introducing tension and release throughout a series of entertaining builds and fresh vocal chops. ‘I’ve Got The Feeling’ ups the energy, leading into rowdy rave stabs, soaring samples, and pounding drums, leading into closing cut ‘I’ve Got The Groove’, which maintains the energy with sharp, visceral bass and skippy percussion to round out the release

Moscow is the capital of the Russian Federation. With approximately 13 million inhabitants (as of 2022), it is the largest city and, with 19.1 million inhabitants (2023), the largest agglomeration in Europe.

The city is located on the Moskva River in the west of the country and in the center of the historic Russian heartland. First mentioned in 1147, Moscow developed into the capital of the Grand Duchy of Moscow, soon replacing the older, significant centers of power in the Rus'. After the Russian Empire was proclaimed, Moscow remained the political and economic center for most of its history. Under the reign of Peter the Great, the Russian capital was relocated to the newly founded city of Saint Petersburg in 1712, temporarily diminishing Moscow's influence. After the Russian Revolution and the founding of the RSFSR, the capital was relocated back to Moscow in 1918, where it later became the political center of the Soviet Union. Even after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, Moscow remained the capital of the newly founded Russian Federation.

Moscow is the northernmost and coldest megalopolis in the world and is administered as an independent federal subject. As the political, economic, cultural, and scientific center of Russia and Eastern Europe, Moscow is considered a global city and has one of the largest urban economies in the world. The city is also one of the fastest-growing tourist destinations and one of the most visited cities in Europe. Moscow has the second-highest number of billionaires of any city (tied with Hong Kong) and is considered the Russian city with the highest standard of living. The Moscow International Business Center is one of the largest financial centers in the world and boasts most of Europe's tallest skyscrapers. Moscow hosted the 1980 Summer Olympics and was one of the host cities of the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Most of Russia's well-known sports teams are also based in Moscow.

Moscow is home to numerous universities and institutes, as well as churches, theaters, museums, and galleries. In addition to the skyscrapers of the financial district, the city is also home to the striking Seven Sisters from the Stalin era and the 540-meter-high Ostankino Tower, the tallest building in Europe. Moscow is the seat of the Russian Orthodox Church, whose Patriarch resides in the Danilov Monastery. The largest Russian Orthodox church building is the Moscow Cathedral of Christ the Savior. There are over 300 churches in the city of Moscow. The Kremlin and Red Square in the center of Moscow have been on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1990 and are considered Russia's most famous landmarks.

With ten long-distance train stations, four international airports, three inland ports, the largest metro network outside of China, and as the center of the Russian highway network, the city is the country's most important transport hub.

Continuing to discover fresh talent, Patrick Topping recruits Brazilian DJ/producer Mura for an irresistibly energetic first release laced with catchy rapped vocals sitting atop a bouncy, synth-laden production, inviting label family members Ewan McVicar and Elliot Adamson on board for a pair of high octane remixes. 

Following his ‘Street Rave EP’ on Trick in 2020, DJ Mag ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ nominee Ewan McVicar provides a high energy ‘Organ Mix’ of Mura’s original, keeping ‘88 alive with blasting stabs and chorded organs to transform ‘Check It’ into a no-holds-barred rave anthem. 

Elliot Adamson returns to Trick after yet another year of superb output in 2020 and turns in two remixes of ‘Check It’. The laser-ridden ‘Leazes’ remix and the aptly titled ‘Turbo’ remix both see the Newcastle-born producer taking no prisoners, adding a welcome dose of frenzied excitement to yet another standout release from Trick.

Mura - Check It (Ewan McVicar Organ Mix)

Trick is an acclaimed dance music label and event brand owned and curated by global dance music icon, Patrick Topping.

The Newcastle native launched Trick in 2019 as a platform to spot and champion emerging artists, both in the studio and behind the decks. Since then, Trick has become one of the scene's most popular underground dance music event brands and record labels, launching the careers of some of the UK's biggest ticket-sellers and creating a cult fan following along the way.

As a record label, Trick is set to his 100 releases in 2024 and has given an outlet to many new signings who have since become some of the fastest-rising stars in the UK, such as Ben Hemsley, Hannah Laing and Ewan McVicar, who delivered platinum-certified “Tell Me Something Good” along the way. 

Trick's loyal fanbase has become one of the most passionate communities in dance music, with fans sporting Trick's signature lightning bolt on merchandise and tattoos at events throughout the UK and beyond. From completing a 9-date residency in 2022 at Ibiza's legendary DC10, to hosting a stage at EDC Orlando 2022, to attracting 10,000 ravers to The Warehouse Project in Manchester and bringing thousands to an Australian Debut in Melbourne in 2023. Then there is the Trick Weekenders, Budapest in 2022 and Tenerife in 2023. These events both saw 2,500 Trick Troops holiday and party together abroad, with Trick Tenerife this year set to double in size.

In 2024 Patrick is set to give back to his roots, bringing legions of fans to his hometown of Newcastle this summer 2024 with the launch of Trick Fest. Trick will also return to Ibiza, hosting a four-date residency in Hï’s Theatre on Wednesdays.
