I recently had the opportunity to enjoy a few wonderful days off, completely offline, in a small, old hotel in the countryside overlooking a beautiful lake. for some reason, this place has not yet been discovered by lifestyle influencers or occupied by adventure-seeking stand-up paddlers.

surrounded by this tranquility and far from the hustle and bustle, the lyrics for a song I had published on sc as an instrumental years ago came to mind. it wasn't that easy to get my virtual singer to perform the glissando guitar melody from back then, but it worked out reasonably well in the end.

trigger warning (not fishing for contradictory compliments): my english lyrics probably sound like schoolboy poetry. however, I have to take that risk, hoping the meaning still comes across. it‘s about realizing how empty it is to always chase the faster, better, more, to constantly wonder what‘s next, to see time as the enemy, and to ultimately be nothing but a rushing shadow of one's own driven nature.

Recorded in 2021. remastered.  I have to have a new way to play the piano. My sister and my son are doing that. They are working out a way to bring the piano to my hospital bed. I can no longer sit up, even in my powerchair. It's too uncomfortable and hard to breathe. I don't have functioning back or abdominal muscles, and I can't lift my head off my chest unless In laying back. Only my arms and hands are semi-functioning. My thumbs are going bad. I can't pull a zipper. I won't be able to play as well and I don't know how I'll work the sustain pedal - but I'll do my best! 😊🎶🎹🎶
