This track originates from a challenge on the Madlabz Discord to produce a track from samples that must all fit on a 1.44MB Floppy Disk and at least one 606 sample.

Although this track was all made 'in the box' using Logic I have tried to follow the ethos of using old skool hardware by only using a limited number of fairly basic plugins to process the samples.

This EP starts with the amazing Trident with an atmospheric Jungle Dub track, followed by Optimystic's roaring remix of my track Photon.
The B Side is equally epic, featuring the break master Opius who teams up with the legendary KJ Sawka to give us a string-laden breakbeat masterpiece. The final track is from someone who needs no introduction; 'Ricky Force'. He presents an updated version of his deep jungle cut 'Thulsa Doom', the original of which was released back in 2012.

Moakz's stunning debut album 'The Critical Path', releases on double 12" vinyl and digital on 6th June 2025. Omni Music label owner teams up with the prolific Astral Haze to deliver a deep new session of sonic adventures. Dream Technology begins the LP with a serene opening before lifting off into a soulful mid 90'S style groove, evolving into a thundering journey through hypnotic arps and strings. The title track Time Dilation is up next where a hundred influences converge into a rolling paradise of varying styles all wrapped together seamlessly. Hypergeometry starts more omninously where it quickly builds with crisp beats, epic strings and acid-infused sounds. Astral Haze takes up the remix duties next for Eschaton and Lunanescence's Lattice of Stars, turning his influence back to Acid techno realms and creating a stepping alternative version of the originals sounds. The deep beats keep flowing through the rest of the LP, from Eschaton's Techmospheric re-work of Astral Haze's Pithshift, the uplifting chopped drums of Internal Experience all the way through to the closing drumfunk-esque and jazz inspired sounds of Instrumentalism. This is another great new meeting of minds and they look forward to working together again soon.

These 2 artists need no introduction and have now joined forces to offer a deep 4 track work of art. Sub Motion starts the EP with his remix of Astral Haze's Forgotten Frequency that introduces futuristic synth stabs over beautiful floating pads and driving rhythms. Next up they collaborate with the sublime sounds of After Party as layers of pads and strings compliment the feverish breaks. It's then Astral Haze's turn to step up to the remix duties taking on Sub Motion's majestic Astral Sunset turning it into a evolving story of chopped apache breaks and morphing analogue synth stabs. The EP ends on the collaborative project of Spacetime Physics where they have saved the best for last as futuristic keys dance around crisp drums and celestial pads to create an hypnotic journey to a far flung space and time. We can't wait to hear these 2 talented artists merge their styles together again in the future.

The Codename: RCRDS Show on Jungletrain hosted by Chiron 31/5/25

Label co-owner Moakz returns to Codename: RCRDS - ‘Another Dream EP’, the sixth release on Codename: RCRDS, the new label from Southampton-based jungle, 160 and atmospheric crew Codename: Amen. 

‘Another Dream EP’ marks another flip up in style for this versatile artist, this time focussing on jungle and hardcore-influenced stylings. The EP opens with the tribal ‘Howler Monkey (Another Dream)’, a feverish and mystical stepper straight out of the Amazon, where Think breaks collide with tribal drums, booming sub bass and eerie chanting vocals.

Joint label owner and long-time friend Rome joins Moakz for his first release on the label ‘Cosmic Explosion’, flipping things into a different direction again, full of deep and dubby organic goodness, with rumbling reeses, brass stabs, strings and metallic tones keeping things rolling nicely.

The EP continues with ‘Back To The Earth’, with Moakz once again stepping things out with a deep vibe, as soulful vocals cry “Who’s To Blame?” whilst powerful drums criss-cross with technical malfunctions.

Things draw to a close with the post-hardcore vibes of ‘Gotta Take It Easy’, which mashes cinematic strings, haunting vocals, 303s, gorgeous rhodes, dubby bass and rolling breaks into an inventive closure to the EP.
