Back in November 2020 the BBC released stems of Beethoven's Symphony No.5 for artists to remix. This was my effort to turn it into a Drum & Bass track

Omni Music welcomes the up and coming Tormund to demonstrate his atmospheric talent. This new journey of sound starts with Gravity as chopped rhythms and vocals are complimented by discreet jazz elements to create a rolling Artcore jungle introduction. Next up is Relative where more jazz and funk touches keep the summery vibes flowing with joyfully playful beats. Two Equals Two stays on the same jazz inspired ride but launches into a cosmic direction before the EP ends on the deep space-age beats of Tesseract complete with heavenly pads and drifting arpeggios. This is a fine debut from a fine talent and we expect to hear much more in the future.

The prolific Mineral is back to showcase more of his talent, showing he's a favourite on Omni Music for good reason. This epic new LP starts with the aptly titled 'This is Just the Beginning' which sets the mood with it's twinkling piano, heavenly, deep bass and celestial melodies. Next up is 'Transmission' a voyage into the sounds of the future before the rolling breaks of 'Illusions Disappear' transport the listener to a timeless space. The LP continues with flurries of bright melodics, cosmic beats and pads that sound like he has plucked them out of a nebula floating near by, all the way until the stunning closing track 'Afterlife' with its immense build up that kicks off into sounds from a time yet to come. Mineral never disappoints and we can only wait avidly for more.

In this uncertain world of post-truths and state actors how much of our 'reality' is controlled? With misinformation spread like wildfire, multiple realities presented by those with vested interests, and increasing use of AI technologies, where do we turn our trust for a true reality in the digital age?

'Controlled Reality' opens a new VA trilogy series for Codename: RCRDS, with several returning artists alongside a number of debutants on the label for a darker, brooding opener to the series.

The EP commences with Stringnet's brooding sci-fi epic 'The Stessa', where deep strings give way to snappy breaks and neuro style synths, marking an intriguing first instalment from this fresh talent. Codename regular Trident contributes the introspective roller 'Block IV', taking us to an unknown location far away from prying eyes, before NonRev wisely encourages us to 'Leave The City Behind' with his trademark driving grooves and deep atmospheric tones. TRC2 closes the EP with the paranoid techstepper 'The Few Left', full of warped basses and ominous alarms.

Two talented Codename: RCRDS regulars combine for 'Sunlight EP', which beautifully showcases these rapidly blossoming atmospheric talents.

Fortune & Chance opens the EP with the futuristic stunner 'In Wonder', beckoning us to look to the skies for our futures.  2nd Strike brings Trident into the fray with the first of the collaborations, a driving tech roller which will work equally well on headphones as the dancefloor.  The 2nd joint effort, title track 'Sunlight' offers a dreamier respite, with beautiful strings, double bass and brass washing over you.  Perfectly timeless music to bring those memories of sunkissed summers flooding back.  Trident closes the EP with the warm liquid tinged 'Do What You Feel', ready to work discerning dancefloors with its inviting combination of house-style vocals and stabs, and vibrant breaks and congas.
