With this EP I’ve focused on the really chill, vibey and straight up lo-fi side of my Itona project. Each track was written with warmth and cosiness, and relaxing in mind.

This is also the first Itona project to feature live instrument layers. ‘Lullaby’ features the beautiful guitar work of Rich Dicas and working with him on this track was so cool. He’s such a talented musician so it felt pretty effortless. There’ll be more to come from us in the future, 100%.

My personal favourite is ‘One Time’ and it’s probably my favourite Itona track to date. Straight up vibes, very subtle production style and a real nostalgic sound for me. The synths and background ambience remind me of listening to music on tape, sitting there waiting to rewind those tracks I loved. No back skip, just patiently waiting with my Sony cassette player in my hand.

Thank you to everyone supporting this project, I hope you enjoy drifting away to a chilled place with this EP. 💤

"So Far Away" is a euphoric, roller-style drum and bass tune that's part of the Driving School EP. The song includes melodic elements, low cut reese basses, several layers of unique percussion, melodic sound design, and original vocals by the talented LITTLE LiON. It takes you through a distinct progression that doesn't lose the original theme of the track, including a halftime/trap-style breakdown through the second half of the track.

This marks the first time original vocals have been used in a Sharrol Kelby track.

His latest release, “Prema” (which means love in Sanskrit), is a special one. It’s an Afro-Indo experimental bass track dedicated to his grandmother, who just turned 91. You’ll hear touches of Indian melodies, Afro rhythms, and global textures woven in this track.
