Shahrokh Dini delivered two top notch EPs in 2022, “Now We Can Dance” with Illinois and “Ubuntu”. After gathering some decent remixes, a proper vinyl release became self-evident. Here we go now with splendid re-works by the likes of Lehar, David Mayer, Omer Tayar, Tooker, Kovi, Patrick Zigon and Apoena. A superb package!

 

Shahrokh Dini left Karlsruhe, while he is even more active than ever in his old and new basecamp Berlin. Not even that he played a lot of nice gigs during summer (Amsterdam, few times on Ibiza, lot of gigs in Berlin, Italy, Corfu, Sardinia), he is also busy in the studio with several releases and remixes (btw.: one for Compost artist Felix Laband). “Now We Can Dance” with the strong and lovely vocals by Illinois is a contemporary house smash with an 80ties indie dance twist. Shahrokh met Illinois at the Garden Of Babylon parties, where Shahrokh is virtually the resident DJ, too.

Further we have stunning remixes by Lehar (Diynamic Music, Connaisseur Recordings), David Mayer (formerly Keinemusik, Ouïe), Apoena (Freerange), Omer Tayar (The Gardens of Babylon/Tel Aviv), Patrick Zigon (Biotop, Traumraum), Tooker (Ouïe, Crosstown Rebels), Kovi (Compost, Frau Blau).

“Fauna & Flora” it’s now out in the world.

I wanted to include everything that I am as a musician and DJ in it, what I listen to daily and what shapes me as an artist. Conceptually I wanted to represent moments of light and darkness, perfection and imperfection, rawness and hyper-polishment. My aim was to illustrate this conflict between worlds and while making them coexist. 

An album for me it’s where you can experiment and try to show your full scope as an artist. Subconsciously it’s all there. I hope it is as challenging for you as it was for me. That evokes feelings, reactions, emotions, conversations and thoughtfulness. 

From now on it’s not mine anymore, it’s from you. It’s from the world, it’s from the ones that take time of their valuable life to listen. Own it, disown it, love it or hate it - it’s from me to you.

Dixon executive produced all the tracks in this album, he worked tirelessly like it was his own music. And in the end it became. In the end it is.

'Riding a wave of international recognition following the release of Elif’s Medusa EP and MANTi’s Call Out in September and October respectively, nascent Barcelona-based imprint Marginalia looks to continue its abundant run of top drawer output, with the unveiling of the label’s third offering in as many months – Worth It. Due for worldwide release on Friday, November 24, this latest release sees label boss Elif welcome Argentinian producer RADON for his Marginalia label debut, as he pulls out all the stops to unleash a remarkable three-track package together with featuring remixer, Auggië.

Releasing under his birth name Nicolas Parrado until now, RADON – whose productions on Argentinian imprint Amancay have received hefty support from the likes of John Digweed, Adriatique, Echonomist, Aera, Sobek and Facundo Mohrr, amongst others – opens the EP with the groove-inducing title track Worth It. A unique house cut characterised by hypnotic rhythms and trippy, old school hip hop vocal samples, the Argentine makes his intentions knows from the off as he lays down a mind-bending club record that captivates from the off. Road tested to impressive reception at the likes of Afrika, Jet, Banana, Crobar, Bahrein and Niceto, this latest dancefloor weapon already looks set to enter the record boxes of the industry’s international touring elite over the weeks and months to come.

Speaking about the release, RADON commented:

““Worth It” was born out of my desire to make a new sound that will combine a mix of modern house and hip hop.“Diez Minutos” represents something similar, but leaning more towards dub. These were both made with the club in mind, and that’s why groove predominates in both of them. I also think it was a nice occasion to launch my new aka with this release at Marginalia. Based in southern Germany, DJ and producer duo Innellea have left their sound-mark in the electronic music since their first release, 'Colante', in 2016. In less than two years Innellea or Daniel and Michael, how close friends call them, have become an in-demand-act and an Adana Twins favorite. The honor of being favorited by the Hamburgers now results in releasing the very first EP, 'Nautilus', on their newly founded label TAU. 'Quito', referring to Ecuador's capital, is the most percussive cut from the EP and represents a musical counterpart to 'Nautilus'. The lush bassline sets the groove and is gradually enriched with further percussive elements as well as incisive synth-chords before peaking in a tropical-break(down)that pours a heavy musical rainfall down on the listener. But 'Quito' does not leave you in the rain but keeps pushing forward as further twirling and curling soundscapes are added within the course of the track and make you cherish the romance of a warm summer rain.

"Released at the end of 2018, the first in Erdi Irmak's "Hidden Arcadia" showcased a quartet of sparkling original productions. As Proton Music returns to the series, "Hidden Arcadia, Vol. 2" combines a trio of new tracks with stunning remixes from German and Greek artists.

An artist with a strong tie to Proton Music saw July 2014's "You in Me" EP lighting a path for "Night" a year later, before "Hidden Arcadia" shot Erdi Irmak to global notoriety in 2018. Now continuing the successful series, "Falling down" immediately delights as a stripped-back beat and rich bass paves the way for a glissando lead line to wend its way across the mid-range. [...]

A talented multi-instrumentalist and music producer of global renown, Rauschhaus has found his music allied to some of the finest underground dance imprints that include Steyoyoke, Einmusika and Traum. October 2018's "Opal" saw a sparkling original debut on Proton Music as the German artist follows up on a rerub of Michael A with another remix for the label.
Holding its audio cues from "Vol. 1", the Rauschhaus remix takes "Owl" on a new flight of fantasy that explores original components while extending them with a plethora of additional production material. A new sustained analogue bassline gradually opens up in the second half, adding to the cadenced motif already in place and a rich arpeggio supplies a new hypnotic narrative. The result is an innovative remix with the beating heart of Erdi Irmak's "Owl".

Born in the US house music capital, Savvas' move from Chicago to Greece has seen him carve out an impressive career as DJ and producer. His music signed to such leading imprints as Anjunadeep, Nie Wider Schlafen and Motek Music, a trio of appearances on Particles including the beautiful "Mindfulness" on the "Winter 2019" compilation, now sees him join the Proton Music ranks. .
