 Genetic manipulation is a phenomenon that began to stir scientific circles and public opinion in the second half of the twentieth century. It is a concept that for the general public arouses conflicting feelings and attitudes. It should be noted that the controversy over the legitimacy and utility of the different methods prevail even among experts..
What exactly is gene manipulation. It is a heterogeneous group of various methods whose unifying factor is the alteration of genetic information. The greatest benefit for genetic manipulation of course was the development of genetic engineering, which methods utilize biotechnological methods for the direct modification of genetic information. However, genetic engineering itself is only a subset of gene manipulation, because it excludes methods, which directly manipulate the hereditary information, but only with the organism (targeted crossbreeding, some methods directed mutagenesis)...
