The seventh record released by the Miteinander Musik imprint extends summer for another couple of turns -- the birds tweet and the waterfall splashes on MM007. Trinidad, three Swiss guys with an affinity for instruments and beats, deliver two melodious house tracks: «L'Oiseau» and «Cascades». Two masters of their trade, Stefano Ritteri and Yooj, take care of the remixes.
Italian expat Ritteri, who runs his Congaloid label out of London and who without a doubt counts to the ever-growing circle of friends of the Miteinander Musik family, lends «L'Oiseau» more tempo and swing. Yooj, who found his way from his native San Francisco all the way to the turntables of respected outlets such as Berlin's Watergate, reinterprets «Cascades» as a garage-influenced tune.

While EDM heads scream at you to get ready for the drop, and rappers are busy bangin bitches, thank god for our boys from Perth, Crooked Colours, who just want to feel your bones.

Taking off from where they left us with Come Down, In Your Bones is tight like prom night but with the swagger of a senior, combining tuned percussion with smooth as silk vox and a lil flex of their synth muscles as the track progresses…..some might call this a slow burner, we call it the sound of Crooked Colours.

On the remix front, first up we have Chiefs who take the original and rinse it in Jamaican vibes, speaking of…Switzerland's Trinidad take the beauty of the original and soak it in the warmth of luscious house music, a huge favorite of us here at Sweat, but they're all our children which means we have equally massive love for turntable wizard Sampology, who keeps the tropical vibes going with his mix as well as Club Sweat bad boys Boot Action who dish up a house chugger that gives the right amount of grunt for the clubs (maybe not the EDM heads…but hey…).

With the OG already getting lots of love on the radio stations that know what's up, Crooked Colours look set to be feeling a few bones this year.

If you look up the meaning of "like a kid in a candy store," the Urban Dictionary will tell you it's a state of utter fascination, with many good or tempting things all around you. It then gives the following example. "In Amsterdam I was surrounded by weed, shrooms, pancakes, and cheap whores. I felt like a kid in a candy store."

It kinda sums up how i felt when it came to choosing the second single for the forthcoming RÜFÜS album. SOOOOOOO much good shit to choose from - but what to go with next? So much choice, i got confused and went for a surf. Which was when it hit me just how good these boys are at writing hooks. "Like An Animal" was stuck in my head the whole surf, so much so that i pretty much had to get out of the water and race back to tell Danny, their legendary manager that yep, I agreed with them - "Like An Animal" should be the next single.

So here it is.

Oh..but most of you are djs right? :) Well…..we got remixes don't u worry…..Dom Dolla DESTROYS it with his cut….absolutely his best yet!!!! French Express main man Isaac Tichauer takes the deep route while Swiss trio Trinidad get all warm and organic on us like they do so well.

Following the release of a number of EPs on Swiss, German, British and Australian labels, Trinidad will release their debut album ‘Palm Trees & Thirty Degrees’ on October 16th 2020. The album draws on the Swiss-based trio’s experience of sustaining the energy of festival and club shows, while also providing the perfect background to a relaxed summer evening with friends.

The project provides an opportunity for the trio to indulge in a range of musical influences, blending together a mix of synthesizers with the haunting tones of a church organ, the warmth of a string quartet and regality of an opera singer. The album grew organically, with inspiration taking hold beyond the confines of the studio: the bonus track recorded with a Jamaican reggae singer in the back of a VW bus in Greece. Soundscapes from Colombia to India were captured and embedded.

With "Palm Trees & Thirty Degrees" Trinidad guide listeners on a journey to a tropical paradise; to a wonderful, perhaps peculiar place of confidence, created and shaped by the mental theatre of the moment.

The soft kiss of a warm breeze hits you as you adjust to your new surroundings ("Desembarco"); leaving the static chatter of your thoughts behind in the "Lobby" (feat. MonoAbe) of your mind; you allow yourself to imagine what the evening holds in store (”Kopfkino”); But first, there’s a drink in the ”Sunset Bar”, a refreshing cocktail "Luciola" that serves as a gateway for you to plunge into the night. A night of unlimited possibilities, the first instances a blur ("Sagrada"), as time starts to lose its meaning ("Tempus Fugit"); everything spins, everything is possible, everything is ("Elevate"). Suddenly, hours (or is it days?) have passed - it doesn’t matter; what matters is the first sign of dawn, the unmistakable warmth dissolving the darkness (”Alma”); the beat slows, and you feel the "Libération" of the new day; looking around you see the moments you’ve shared etched on the faces of your friends ("Fleeting" feat. Julia Portmann); It is not goodbye, it is only "Au Revoir".

The album was produced by Trinidad in their own studios in Bern and Zurich. It features collaborations with a number of artists: Cornelia Aeschbacher Firmin (Hang), MonoAbe (Mallets & Percussion), Jack Williams (text of "Fleeting"), Julia Portmann (vocals), Zenyth (vocals) and Michael Meier (electric bass). The songs were mixed by Marcel Schneider, mastered by Benjamin Fay. Raïssa Lara Lütolf was responsible for the graphic design.
