Mani Festo - Reptile [MTRON046]

With Sharpening, Nina continues her exploration of the hidden symphony embedded within the everyday environment. This electro-breakbeat piece is forged from an unlikely source: a field recording captured on her iPhone - the visceral, metallic screech of a mechanical knife sharpener in motion.

What begins as abrasive industrial noise is dissected, stretched, and reassembled into rhythm and texture. Grinding steel becomes percussion; friction becomes pulse. Through careful manipulation and reconstruction, she transforms raw utility into kinetic groove, revealing the musicality concealed within mundane machinery.

Sharpening functions as both process and metaphor, friction shaping form, pressure creating clarity. In her hands, even the harshest textures resolve into something deliberate, rhythmic, and alive.

Digital Frustration is an EP exploring the theme of inner frustration through the lens of hard electro and breakbeat. The release was created during a period of deep self-reflection and became a way for the artist to process the feeling of unattainable ideals — the realization that you may never become the person you aspire to be.
The EP includes two remixes by producers 1783 and VELSKY, offering alternative interpretations of the release’s central tracks and expanding its emotional spectrum.

Local Code x Yansyet - Aspiration EP [Electro Music Coalition // EMC V020]

Electro Music Coalition отмечает важную веху в своей истории. Двадцатый порядковый номер в каталоге — это не просто статистика, а подтверждение жизнеспособности и веса лейбла на мировой электро-сцене. Юбилейный релиз под названием «Aspiration» объединяет усилия двух представителей российской электронной сцены — Local Code и Yansyet.

Название пластинки «Стремление» и ее концептуальный символизм — всевидящее око и скованные руки — задают жесткий, но глубоко осмысленный тон всей работе. По задумке авторов, оковы символизируют фундаментальные ограничения. Лишь признав их существование, можно обрести стремление вырваться на свободу, перейти к созиданию и развитию идей, дарованных метафорическим Архитектором. Именно эта идеология преодоления диктует бескомпромиссное звучание релиза. Оставив в стороне меланхолию, «Aspiration» делает ставку на чистую динамику. В фокусе — агрессивный грув, тяжелая ритм-секция и сырой звук, словно срывающий цепи привычных структур.

Local Code и Yansyet создали монолитную работу, где техническая выверенность и жесткая ритмическая структура доминируют над излишествами. Тандем артистов демонстрирует преемственность традиций «машинного» звука, сохраняя при этом напористость.

Никаких лирических отступлений — только уверенный драйв и четко выверенный бит. «Aspiration» доказывает, что к своей двадцатой пластинке EMC не теряет хватки, продолжая поставлять на танцполы бескомпромиссный звук высшей пробы.

Electro Music Coalition marks a pivotal milestone in its history. Reaching the twentieth catalog number is more than just a statistic; it is a testament to the label's vitality and its formidable weight within the global electro scene. This anniversary release, titled "Aspiration," brings together the creative forces of two prominent figures in the Russian electronic landscape: Local Code and Yansyet.

The record’s title and its conceptual symbolism — the all-seeing eye and shackled hands — set a raw yet profoundly meaningful tone for the entire work. In the authors' vision, the shackles represent fundamental constraints. Only by acknowledging their existence can one find the drive to break free, moving toward the creation and evolution of ideas bestowed by the metaphorical Architect. PREMIERE: K-65 - Subscope [MTRON046]

At the profaner end of electro lurk Local Code and Yansyet, two rising favourites of the scene as triangulated between London, Russia and Istanbul. Entirely collaborative, 'Gypsy Water' and 'Hey Ya' are sparked-up, full scale ear-assaults, though they don't clip the mix enough to saturate the impact of each track where it matters most. That distortive impulse is let up somewhat on the B-side, in fact, where the deep, talking monotones of 'Drug' glow like faint lights, unnervingly, dully, but still bright enough to light the treacherous way.

Berlin-based DJ duo and couple Brax Moody (Munich) and Vamparela (Thessaloniki) have been collaborating together since 2007, either as a DJ duo, in bands, or as remixers and music producers. Merging the rhythm and dynamism of Munich’s hip-hop clubs with the grime and attitude of Thessaloniki’s back-alley indie bars gives an idea of how to categorize Local Suicide: a straight-up soulful fusion of new wave, slow techno, acid house, chug or as they like to call it “technodisco”.

As DJs they’ve played all over Europe, Asia, North Africa, South America and the US with gigs at Off Sonar, Melt!, Amsterdam Dance Event, Berlin Festival and regular DJ slots at Salon zur Wilden Renate, Berghain, Watergate, Ritter Butzke and almost every club the German capital has to offer.
