For ‘Soul Ties’ being KAS & JC’s first collaborative attempt, it seems the two have an extraordinary chemistry together out the gate. Songs about being romantically in love are always a good vibe to start the summer off. They’ve captured the essence of traditional Hip Hop and R&B with KAS’ storytelling ability effective but subtle punchlines along with JC’s melodic vocals that feels very familiar but revamped all at the same time. Producers David Adams, Marcus “Churchboi” Askew & Marcus “Writazblok” Henderson bring back that 90s vibe that has created this smash of a record.
