"Fam Records News: the new release from Morpha is here.
This’s his first full-length album in two years. What does it sound like? Morpha explains.
I stopped making music in my usual genre, so I spent a long time experimenting and searching for a new sound. In that sense, the FAM label became a place where I could finally feel free. An important symbiosis happened — core values aligned with my need for something new.
How did it all start? I literally opened Ableton and went into the unknown. No reference tracks, just a desire to create something fresh. I was interested in layering my hypnotic background with new BPMs and rhythms, trying out breaks and bass sounds. These tracks weren’t inspired by any other artist.
At the same time, I was working on a dancefloor project at Mutabor on Masalnaya, embedding those same 85/170 experiments. That’s a profound and significant experience for me — hence the release’s name. There’s no need to look for a direct connection between that experience and the tracks themselves. I’d say it just sounds cool, looks good, and it’s a personal milestone for me."

Abelle is a pivotal figure in Moscow's underground scene and indisputably stands as one of
the biggest electronic artists in Russia. Over the past 15 years, she has been active as a DJ,
the founder of major festivals, clubs, and, more recently, a cultural center that has risen to
the status of Moscow's number one venue, Mutabor.
Abelle's influence extends far beyond her homeland. Various events affiliated with the range
of her projects have taken place in key destinations such as Berlin, Barcelona, Bucharest,
New York, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, and many more.
Her career started in the late 2000s with the launch of the Arma17 club, the jewel of
Moscow's underground, that had a profound impact on the scene and became a home for the
massive community. Abelle's subsequent venture, Outline Festival, received wholehearted
support from the people, achieving instant notoriety and legendary status. The festival
recently made a triumphant return with its 2023 four-day installment at a magical location
outside the capital. It combined open-air and industrial rave aesthetics, with art—both visual
and performative—being the platform for the event. This distinctive touch is a common
thread across all projects led by Abelle.
A seasoned selector, Abelle's musical taste has evolved over the years, predominantly
orbiting around techno and related dancefloor-oriented sub-genres. Her primary sources of
inspiration include avant-garde, ritual, and rare ethnic music.
