Benny Balance’s third EP, Grunty, is slow, weighty, and full of character, a collection of percussion-driven rhythms layered with tasteful melodics.

Captured from Benny’s ever-growing collection of studio hardware, the EP brings a textured, imperfect feel. It’s music built for movement, but never in a rush. Designed to bridge the gap between warm-up and lift-off, Grunty sits comfortably between solo listening and the first pulse of a filling dance floor. Like its name suggests, it’s got power in its stride, so lace up your boots and enjoy Grunty.

Featuring a club-ready remix of “oranges at half time” by fellow Aotearoa collaborators Patella & Calske, who have transformed the original into a driving, higher-energy dance track.

Triple Drop Productions began when three young producers from Wales (UK) first started tinkering about with various pieces of music software. The trio shared enthusiasm for the intricate structures of dub, dubstep, techno, drum and bass, breaks, psytrance and the many other genres which they had the privilege to explore on dance floors across the country. Over time, they self taught themselves the ins and outs of creative music production. Their musical tastes evolved and their ears began manoeuvring through the various areas of style and genre as they experimented. Saxon Higgs, the founder of the label began his project, Brujo's Bowl. His experience in building this project, along with working for many record labels and events in some of the biggest international underground music scenes inspired him to start Triple Drop Productions. Although the first few releases have been released solely to please the ears of the psychedelic music scene world wide; TDP no longer sets boundaries to any particular style or genre. Whilst keeping this ideal flowing, and not to stagger too much on a random stream of unpredictable foot holes. The focus tends to drift comfortably through the deepest locations of the mind, body and soul. Minimal intelligent bass music and downtempo with a psychedelic, quirky edge; as eclectic and intuitive as can be made possible with the production knowledge of the artists. The label sets out to move, relax, inspire and set the anticipation receptors blinking along this intriguing direction in to the sonic spectrum.
