Never been to Birdland though I’m a big Charlie 'Yardbird' Parker fan. This track, however, is more about the Tweetie variety, they are such a delight, I love listening to their toons. Birdland

It was 1995, I had already acquired my trusty Alesis SR-16 "Dr No" but not hooked it up in stereo yet on my 4-track cassette recorder.

This track is one of the more fun I made in those days, thought I'd share it here. For the occasion, I properly mixed and mastered it in such a way to keep it's original character intact as much as possible. I did put *some* fancy effect to stereoize the vocals a little, and there is a subtle stereo reverb on the drums.. Things like that, but that's just to make it palatable for the modern crowd. This is after all an original recording, no edits, no overdubs.

Thinking about putting an entire 'legacies' album together. Would anyone be interested in that?

Originally saved under the working title of 'Microspunto 13', this piece started out as a test of a Steinberger guitar I built from scattered parts found on the internet. I still own that guitar and it is one of my favourites and most used guitars ever.
The track was made in my home studio in late August and early September 2010 and never made it beyond the DEMO stage.
There is also an alternative version of the track with an electronic drum section created by Tommaso Fiori. I'm looking for it in the archives, as soon as I find it I'd like to put that one online too.

This story follows a group of young childhood friends as they grow into adulthood and navigate through the experiences that must come with that; the wistful memories of their youth, the death of childhood, love and loss and growing older. However, they eventually discover they are in an illusionary world controlled by an omniscient super A.I. intelligence directly affecting every decision or even thought one may have, keeping them locked in an endless loop. Ultimately the friends find their true path and break free after a perpetual night of no reprieve.

This concept album sort of acts as a spiritual successor to my Demo EP "Welcome to the Neighborhood", as some similar musical themes appear in both, mostly used to foreshadow this one.

Down at the Alpaca farm I came across three freshly shaved beauties. Earl, Penny, and Chester (left to right). As I marveled and chuckled at their stylish heads, I was drawn to little Penny, and as I went to pet her Chester let loose and spit in my direction, just catching my head. Earl had a good laugh and I imagined them thinking; You like our heads? Go Check Your Head.
