Keine schlechte Entscheidung, denn wenn das Jahr nur halb so abwechslungsreich wird wie der Mix von @mshyde25, dann steht uns einiges bevor. Die Zweitplatzierte des DAVE DJ Contests 2023 serviert ihre Einflüsse auf dem Silbertablett, wobei sie mühelos zwischen Hip-Hop, Funk, Drum'n'Bass, Trip Hop und Grime switcht. Und wie diese Vielfalt zustande kam, verrät sie im Interview.

Slow Tides - an ambient set by Tripstoph

Schleunig schleust du durch die Stadt. Durch die Streets und Gassen, durch die Menschenmassen. Auf dem Handy neue News, auf dem Ohr ein alter Mix. Guckst nach links, blickst nach rechts. Alles hetzt und trubelt, abgewetzt und ausgelaugt. 
Windig wischt der Wind die Plastiktüten drum herum, um den Baum der sich schon läge fragt, was hier für Konzepte gelebt werden. Menschliche Entwürfe, auf Papier, in Kalendern, hingekritzelt, Vorsätze, kurze und lange. Die Optimierung dreht sich um sich selbst und verliert den Fokus, denn da kommt schon das nächste Ziel um die Ecke. 
Du skippst den Mix, dein Daumen eine automatisierte Maschine. Und da erklingt plötzlich ein entschleunigender Sound, House der runterbringt, der zum verweilen einlädt und den Speed rausnimmt. Thats it. Thats what we need. Dreh auf und lass alle mithören, was @lia_brln da vermischt hat.

As an absolute music aficionado, it was inevitable that Phoebe would eventually take her place behind the DJ decks. Her journey into the realm of spinning records began where her passion for eclectic sounds first took root - amidst the raw and emotive energy of Psychedelic Rock, Indie and the defiant edge of Post-Punk. Yet, it was her serendipitous plunge into the dynamic world of Leipzig's club scene that truly shaped her musical destiny. Here, she discovered a vibrant tapestry of Garage House and Disco, genres that spoke to her soul and compelled her to blend, mix, and share her findings with the world.

By 2019, Phoebe had transformed from an observer of musical culture to an active participant, wielding her records and playlists like an artist with a palette of endless colors. Her affiliation with the Vacanza Kollektiv not only gave her a platform but also a family of fellow music enthusiasts, each contributing to the rich, diverse soundscape that defines their collective presence in the scene.

Phoebe's DJ sets are more than just music; they are an experience, a journey through time and sound. With each performance, she invites her audience to embark on a voyage from the nostalgic depths of Disco to the soul-shaking bass lines of Funk, and into the heart of pulsating Garage House. Her unique ability to weave together tracks from disparate genres into a cohesive, immersive experience has made her a beloved figure on the dance floor.

Her influence and reputation have led her to grace the stages of some of Leipzig's most iconic venues, including Elipamanoke, Conne Island, IFZ, Mjut, and the renowned Tarmac Festival. In these spaces, Phoebe doesn't just play music; she crafts moments, creating the soundtrack for sunrises and heartbeats, for new friendships and old memories. As she continues to evolve and explore the vast universe of music, one thing remains clear: Phoebe is not just a DJ; she's a musical storyteller, guiding her listeners through the night and into the dawn with a promise of something magical at every turn.

https://soundcloud.com/dj-twentyseconds - auch bekannt als vantec artworks - ist eigentlich der Begriff wenn es um kunstvolle Deko- und Lichtkonzepte auf Indoor-Events und Festivals geht. Als Veranstalterin in Kassel und ihre jahrelange Anbindung an die Clubkultur der Region gibt es natürlich einen bestimmten Hintergrund für ihr Schaffen. Die Liebe zur Musik und die Leidenschaft, Menschen an einen Ort zu vereinen -  um unvergessliche Momente, Raum für Begegnung &  Austausch und das Erschaffen gemeinsamer Erinnerungen und Emotionen zu kreieren. Da ist es naheliegend sich doch irgendwann auch mal selbst hinter das DJ Pult zu stellen und nochmal eine Portion mehr Energie an die Leute zu verteilen! Dabei wird sich selten nur auf ein Genre fest gelegt und am liebsten weiter am Handwerk des Vinylmixing gefeilt. Diesmal hat sie für uns ziemlich alte Platten ausgegraben und nimmt uns mit auf eine Reise ins Land des sphärisch-treibendem Techno gespickt mit ein bisschen minimal und hier und da gewürzt mit Acid

As an event organizer in Kassel and her long connection to the region's club culture, there is of course a certain background to her work. The love of music and the passion to bring people together in one place - to create unforgettable moments, space for encounters & exchange and the creation of shared memories and emotions. So it's only natural to get behind the DJ booth yourself at some point and spread a little more energy to the people! She rarely commits to just one genre and prefers to continue honing the craft of vinyl mixing. This time she has dug up some pretty old records for us and takes us on a journey into the land of spherical, driving techno, peppered with a little minimal and spiced with acid here and there.

Schneiderei Club took over Tanzstube, Hive Club's top-level dance floor, together with the collectives "Host & Sound" and "Papaya Sound". Papaya Papis, Kaptain and David Jack, combine high-energy Afro House with fast-paced Melodic House. Kaptain started off with different medium-BPM tracks drawing their energy from unexpected beat drops and deep percussions, while David Jack added energy through increasing BPMs, distinct high-hats and almost ethereal undertones.
