When approached by Corr to record a mix for Flow Sessions, the offer truly couldn’t have come at a better time for me as a DJ. I am so grateful for the opportunity to be involved in the series, so big thanks to the team. The platform is such a wonderful showcase of talent that is consistently bringing the goods.

For the past couple of years, I’ve spent a lot of time experimenting and navigating the different flavours of sound available and I’ve found that this adventure has lead me down various windy pathways quite similar to ‘The Labyrinth’ story. This is a film I often refer back to for inspiration when building my sets or when playing the cello. Embarrassing reveal? Perhaps. But I was very young when taught about the close correlation between musical sound and storytelling and ever since, I’ve always tried to keep that story interesting. I’ll often break down my mix into evolving musical chapters, carefully walking the thin line of tasteful genre-transitioning.

For this mix I have taken full advantage of the time allocated in order to deeper explore the spectrum and step out of my comfort zone. There are many melodic and emotive passages woven into big grooves and driving percussion, keeping a strong sense of momentum throughout the ride.

Please enjoy the next three hours and thirty-three minutes of carefully selected sonic pleasures and listen out for a couple of my recently released collaborations. This process of curation has been such a great experience and I’m absolutely stoked to share the finished product with you all.

Sometimes I turn up to a gig for my 6am slot, and the room is pitch black, deafening, and sweat is dripping off the roof, and I think, hmm, what should I play?

A lot of my solo tracks aren't quite right for this sort of atmosphere, so I've been working on a new project designed more for dark sweaty holes in which we like to spend our weekends.

It's a collaboration with someone I have been working with for many years, who is releasing under the new name - Satirist. The first vinyl + digital release coming next week on Berlin's Killekill label. No pretty melodies this time. The name I will be releasing this work under is - SKEW (because it's a bit off).

For a veteran chillout producer to successfully navigate the transition to sought-after producer / remixer and DJ within the Progressive House scene, is not an easy ask. But Nick Brennan a.k.a. Tripswitch has done just that – and with distinction. It was his Tripswitch ‘Vagabond’ album (Iboga Records, 2016) that cemented his highly rated status as a key dance producer beyond doubt. The album rose to the top of the Beatport charts, hitting #1 in Electronica and holding at #2 in Progressive House for 3 months.

Since then, a flawless resumé of releases on Bedrock, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Movement, Balkan Connection, Flow Vinyl, Pure Progressive and many more creatively exciting labels, has seen Tripswitch’s progressive stock grow exponentially. Chart-topping collaborative studio projects with Nick Warren and Hernán Cattaneo, along with a huge bootleg remix of London Grammar’s ‘Rooting For You’, helped to propel him to the upper reaches of the production cosmos.

Tripswitch’s melodic, emotionally charged, proper progressive DJ sets at amazing events around the world have resulted him gaining a loyal and ever-growing global audience. In 2017 Nick launched his onedotsixtwo label, with its distinct forward-thinking proper progressive ethos. Impeccable curation and the remarkable smash single ‘Voight Kampff’ (courtesy of Tripswitch & Nick Warren) have already seen onedotsixtwo recognised as a ‘Vital Label’ by DJ Mag USA in 2019.

Never one to limit himself creatively, early 2020 saw Tripswitch release ‘Memento Mori’, his hugely anticipated first chillout album in 10 years.
