A gentle and unfussy bootleg, done during lockdown, of one of my all-time guitar heroes and musical inspirations, Vini Reilly.

The Durutti Column were the very first and longest-serving signing on Factory Records, the legendary Manchester label which gave us Joy Division, New Order and the Hacienda. 

This ain't no dancefloor banger - it's a hopefully respectful homage to a beautiful peace of musical tenderness which I wanted to bring to a wider audience and play in my more organic sets. We were hoping to license it for Nick Warren's The Soundgarden, unfortunately having initially had some interest and excitement via his management, the trail with Vini went cold again. So 3 years later it's time to share it with you all as a free DL.

A combination of Matt’s 20 years experience working for Freerange Records (and having a mentor like Jimpster!) and Danny’s long and successful career as a pioneer of a deeper progressive sound that made him one of the masters in the genre.

The EPs features 3 tracks : ‘Introspection,’ ‘Elevate’ and ‘NTO.’ All beautifully crafter with this unique blend of deepness, dubby sounds, skillful use of samples and melodies.

Where do we go? Maybe right here. Death On The Balcony makes their debut single appearance on Loot Recordings with Where Do We Go? following a series of standout remixes. The release features new interpretations from Savvas and Vincent Casanova, each bringing a distinct perspective. The original is a deep, melodic roller that stretches beyond nine minutes, blending warm melodies, hypnotic overtones, and vocal snippets in a slow-burning, immersive groove. Their own remix under the DOTB alias strips things back into a dubby, funkier rework. Anchored by a tight groove and subtle rhythmic shifts, its focused, introspective, and rich with nuanced charm. Savvas delivers a dreamy, emotive version that balances elegance and restraint. Lush strings and delicate synths flow together, creating an intimate yet expansive soundscape. Vincent Casanova brings a punchy, house-leaning remix, pairing crisp drums and warm grooves with touches of the originals vocals for a peak-time ride of infectious energy.

Tripswitch has done just that – and with distinction. It was his Tripswitch ‘Vagabond’ album (Iboga Records, 2016) that cemented his highly rated status as a key dance producer beyond doubt.
