'Alchemy' is the new release from Indian electronic artists Bandish Projekt, based around a collaboration with Uk Spoken word artist Last Mango in Paris.Alchemy is a celebration of modern day India; Narvekar's production combines a traditional Indian aesthetic with an electronic undercurrent and vocals from UK's Hannah Hannah Magenta. The track provides a foundation for a poem which evokes a contemporary subcontinent, where tradition is remixed by a generation hungry for change.

During 2016, we organised two massively rewarding editions of Lowlit BeatDesk, a collaborative workshop for participants based in Mumbai and subsequently Bangalore. As part of the workshop, the producers were also challenged to a make a beat using random samples selected by them in a mere 45 minutes. The most promising of these were then chosen and further fleshed out into full fledged tracks over the next few weeks. We got them mastered and here they are, in the form a new playlist called Mash. 

A big thank you to all who took  part in the workshops. We look forward to seeing you in your city very soon.

So here it is! My 5th #PodMix005 - BollyBass hope you guys enjoy it! It features my top Old Bollywood Classics but HEAVY BASS remixes of em! Mixed this one differently, again super experimental cause I'd never have the opportunity to play this kinda stuff for my gigs. Bass is my go to genre and mainly because I grew up listening most of these tracks and that's why this one is really special to me and close to my heart.

Trishai Somani, who goes by the stage name “Trishai” began Djing and producing music in 2011. He found his inspiration and sonic direction listening to Armin Van Buuren, Carl Cox, Skrillex, Eric Prydz, Tiesto & and Excision, amongst other giants  Over the course of the next few months, he began producing electronic. Being one of the few people in the 10th grade who were listening to trance and techno, after saving for a while, he invested in his first DJ controller. Starting out like any other upcom ing artist, he made a lot of mash ups, which helped him get a few gigs, and around 2013, he decided to evolve from DJing and mixing into music production. Having invested in a launchpad and spending time learning the basics of FL Studio, Ableton Live & Logic, he spent considerable time watching YouTube video tutorials and learning the interfaces to understand the basics of production. From there, he evolved to designing his own sounds, exploring music theory and the various features and nuances of music prod uction. After years of listening to Electronic Music and hearing how it's changed and developed over the years, he researched the diverse genres of sounds that constitute electronic music. 
Eventually, he found his inspiration in bass-oriented music (Dubstep, Trap, Techno, House) to the extent that one might even call him a "Bass Music Connoisseur".   Simultaneously, while developing his sound, he could not help but groove to a sub-genre of  trap called Moombahton, which is probably still one of his favourites. With the course of time,  he managed to support and share stages with several local and international artists like Gurbax, Karan Kanchan, DJ SA, Tansane & Lucchii, and UnderCover respectively on their tours of India.  At that point in time, he believes there was one artist who completely changed the game in India and is getting bigger and better, Nucleya. He was the first artist who managed to make so many Indians enjoy trap and dubstep basically BASS MUSIC with that indie sound that our audience digs. Nucleya has been one of Trishai’s biggest influences and has greatly defined the role and nature of the artist that he aspires to be. Currently, Trishai graduated with a BA in Filmmaking and Specialization in Sound Design from Whistling Woods International while simultaneously working on his first EP, which should be out in the second half of 2023.
