Mais son appellation est parfois trompeuse : dès le début des années 80, des artistes en quête de succès et d'argent se sont inspirés de cette mode bien au-delà des frontières de l'Italie. Notamment de l'autre côté des Alpes...

Ces 18 productions francophones ou françaises (1982-1987) font partie du large héritage laissé en Europe et ailleurs par l'Italo-Disco et ses dérivés. Ce « Week-End À Rome » s’autorise d'ailleurs quelques escapades dans le French-Boogie et la New-Wave. C’est une sélection taillée pour les dancefloors qui alterne entre l’obscurité et la lumière, l'efficacité et l'outrance. « Bonheur, soupir, chanson pour rire, chanson ritale… »

For the first time we have a returning guest for magic mix number fifty nine.

Many moons ago Adam provided us with mix number five to showcase the sounds of his Cosmifrica party which he hosts in one of Newcastle's not so hidden gems 'Ernest' and now he's back to do it again.

Here the mix entitled 'music for coastal walks' is a lovely blend of Brazilian boogie, dub and lovers which pairs perfectly with the warm and hazy mornings we're experiencing at the moment so pop this in your ears, grab that iced latte and go for a walk. Enjoy :)

Various Artists - Five Years Lost (Continuous DJ-Mix by Mario Aureo)

Even though the 'Arkajo'-moniker might be pretty new Nils Krogh has already gained worldwide attention as one half of 'Genius of Time' (other half being Alexander Berg AKA 'Dorisburg') whose resumé we will leave out of this for obvious reasons. Arkajo accounts for the next release, entitled 'Altavista' on notorious Swedish house output 'Aniara Recordings' - which really is a state of the art release that promises a lot for 2015. It doesn't seem to matter if he makes the music together with Alexander or by himself - it's equally fantastic anyhow. Regarding the mix - that consists of mostly vinyl gems, some edits and an unreleased Arkajo  track - he says that "It starts out with subaquatic sounds and eases in to grooves for the dance floor." Word. Thanks for that.

Appreciation Mix #12: Arkajo

The 13th mix in the H.H.A.S. series, and a special one indeed! This one comes from the mysterious Stockholm-duo Motormännen, who claims to make "information techno from a bygone Sweden, through a filter of retro-futuristic skepticism." The output smells of acid and pounding beats and also serves the purpose of delivering community information from the years 1976-1991. The videos that accompany their releases on Youtube are too an important part of their somewhat different but equally fantastic take on Swedish (all the vocal samples as well!) techno. The featured mix is their live set from The "Y+M presenterar: Noise01"-night, held Friday March 6th at Södra Teatern, Stockholm. Please enjoy, and get informed meanwhile.
