Mind the Gaps

This will sound cliche but, this EP is pretty much a reflection of my thoughts in the past year. There’s a lot going on in Malaysia and I kinda feel like there’s no way out. The elites continue their political and economic scheming while the marginalised are forced to toil and suffer. I, among many, hope that Malaysians begin to understand that there are no magical heroes coming along to save us, we have to do it ourselves. This system is so broken that it is willing to kill and intimidate to ensure its survival. Calling for resignations, elections and fighting for control of some rigged institution is not gonna change anything. We have to start asking the right questions, interrogating where the real power lies and take it back. There can't be compromises with the ones in power and the fascists who spread hate/violence towards the vulnerable. Until then however, we’re going to see this cycle continue forever. 

So yeah, enjoy the EP when it comes out, there’s some cool stuff I tried out in there and is somewhat of an indication of where I will be taking Iravu musically. Until then, take care and stay safe.

Surprise! If you listened to Like Shades of Night, you will know that I experimented with Ambient music in sections throughout its runtime. The first track on that EP (Nebulous), was pretty much a pseudo-ambient song in itself. This time however, I've decided to go ahead with my experiments and make an entire EP out of it. So today on Bandcamp Friday, I've decided to release, for free, "Sounds” my first ever fully Ambient EP. It's basically half an hour of weird noises that I did with some synths and my guitar. So put this on while you're working, studying or having moments of contemplation. Maybe this will aid you in a weird way, or it won't, who knows? Give it a listen and let me know! Maybe even support it with some money if you like it!
