destiny's embrace

This month I wanted to focus more on learning how to use sidechain and FX. I used inserts on a few tracks, e.g. percussion, and sent them to a bus. I then used a compressor on that bus track with the kick as input to allow it to shine more. I used a sample from Splice for the vocals and guitar. Added reverb on the vocals to give it more of an ominous tone. The rest of it is Channel EQ, volume automation etc.

Recorded live in NYC for a friend’s birthday on May 17.

Soulful grooves, funky edits, disco flips, deep house and a few cooked transitions. Still sharing it in the spirit of live performance. Gotta keep getting the reps in.

For this track, I was really trying to channel those late-night quarantine vibes with the use of the tenor saxophone and cellos. Still working on getting a better ear for music production. Enjoy!

Created this song through a competition with a few friends, creating different songs sampling Let Me Love You by Mario. I pitched up the sampled vocals to complement the house nature of the song.
