Formation and Early Days: Trivan was envisioned by Vanja Šantak and Ivan Bertović as an extreme metal band and began its journey in 2018 with a college drummer joining the lineup. Although the initial momentum was promising, the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic brought all plans and progress to a temporary halt. This period of inactivity forced the band to pause and reconsider their future direction and aspirations.

Post-Pandemic Reformation: After the pandemic, Vanja successfully enlisted Josip Hrgović as the new drummer, while Tomislav Žiljak took on the role of vocalist. These lineup changes marked a new beginning for Trivan. With the new members onboard, the band decided that the core four members would suffice to fulfill their ambitions, dedicating themselves to their music without further distractions or changes.

Musical Direction and Philosophy: With a clearly defined lineup, Trivan began to intensify its efforts in creating music that reflects their core values and thematic preoccupations. Their music explores themes of existential crises, human suffering, and spiritual defiance through the lens of extreme metal.
