This song is very special to me. I wrote this song late last year and it’s about my struggle with depression. This is a personal song and I was really hesitant to put it out. This song is exactly how I felt a couple of years ago and even some days now. I had such a hard time getting through all of the gunk, all of the black in my life. As hard as I tried, I couldn’t get past my depression and at times I felt helpless and hopeless. All I wanted to do was get back to myself and get back to how I used to feel; about myself and about my life. I wanted to give up a couple of times. I wanted to let the black consume me. I really did. But now being on the other side of that, I’m really glad I didn’t. 

I know this isn’t a happy song and it’s not one you can bump to but it’s real. I hope some of you can listen to this and know that you’re not alone and that it does get better with time; even if it doesn’t feel like it at first. Take a listen and let me know what you think. 💜
