Te Puke Thunder is one of New Zealand’s oldest and most sought after cannabis strains. 

Hailing from the volcanic regions of New Zealand, Te Puke Thunder is prized for its larger buds and higher potency. Gaining popularity in the 70s, the polyploid plant succeeded in becoming a well renowned strain and was notably displayed in a number of Amsterdam coffee shops.

New Zealand authorities believe they have successfully wiped out the majority, if not all, possible trails for the whereabouts of the venerable strain. Some believe there may not be a single seed left with the unmatched genetics of the original Te Puke Thunder strain.

The second part of the „Diorama“ remixes offers again some of the finest producers around. Starting with Kollektiv Turmstrasse! What kicks off as a Chez Damier groove makes the transition into a loose dub monster. Collecting traces of the original sound and dispersing them with magic movements we see why Kollektiv Turmstrasse are a top act. Shifting the attention from the front to the far back from the obvious to the abstract... Turmstrasse create that parallel groove on top of the groove which seems to tighten up with every minute. Fine particles of sounds are sprayed onto the relentless groove and make it a real crowd pleaser.

Time for something sexxxxy and spacyyyy from the secret underground house area. Gnork and Luv*Jam have been working together for more than 5-6 years now, doing lots of gigs, remixes, collaborative EPs, appearing on various compilations. They have always worked a little bit more than what they let us think, accumulating tons of unreleased gems. The time has come to reveal some hidden goodies and we're proud to be premiering one of these secret blorpers from their new EP 'Bonus Blorps', out on Crow Castle Cuts.

The original Blorp93 yellow vinyl surfaced in 2013 and was championed by the likes of RVDS, Bradley Zero, DVS1 and Wolf Music. Since this time, there have been a few secret cuts floating around here and there, some of which lots of people were 'demanding' to be pressed. Seit 2008 veröffentlicht der Mitbegründer des Kölner Musik Labels Ki kontinuierlich elektronische Musik. Dass er gerne zu künstlerischen Kollaborationen bereit ist, stellte er zuletzt 2011 auf der Ki-Spilt No.2 Baltic Sea gemeinsam mit Steffen Kirchhoff unter Beweis. Dort tauchten zum ersten Mal Vocals in Löfflers musikalischem Schaffen auf. Einmal auf den Geschmack gekommen, hat Löffler sich bei A Forest für gleich drei Tracks stimmliche Unterstützung geholt: Die gebürtige Dänin Gry Noehr Bagøien begleitet ihn bei Feelharmonia mit endlos gelooptem, gepitchtem sphärischem Summen, aus dem sich erst allmählich ganz artikulierte Wörter formen. Mohna, Frontfrau der Hamburger Band Me Succeeds unterstützt Christian Löffler bei Eleven. Auch Poet Marcus Roloff hat am Album mitgewirkt, seine mal implizit, mal explizit bedrohlich düsteren Texte fügen sich perfekt in die Löfflersche Klangwelt ein.

Für die dreimonatige Arbeit an seiner ersten LP, zog sich Christian Löffler in ein kleines Haus einer ehemaligen Gartenkolonie bei Usedom zurück. Dort gab es nur einen Raum, ein Fenster und einen Ausblick: Wald. Bei seinen Touren durch die karge Nachbarschaft hin zum Meer sammelte er die Geräusche ein, die ihn umgaben: Blätterknistern, Brandungsrauschen – mal beruhigend, mal bedrohlich, so wie Natur eben ist. Hohlige Holzsounds ziehen sich als mal leises, mal lauteres Geklöppel durch viele Tracks der Platte.
