Joris Feiertag is a Dutch producer and live-act from Utrecht in the Netherlands who makes music that is a finely balanced combination of organic and synthesized elements, often using ingenious syncopated rhythms combined with instruments such as the harp and kalimba.

This autumn he will release Roots, his third album on revered German imprint Sonar Kollektiv. Having concentrated his attention on catchy hooks and a number of guest voices on his first, and deeper breakbeat workouts on his second, Joris felt it was time to deliver something that sat comfortably in a space somewhere between the two. The LP features a plethora of vocalists from across the globe including Afro-futuristic U.S. hip hop outfit OSHUN; Berlin based Noah Slee; Rotterdam’s Robin Kester; Guinea born Falle Nioke; Tru Thoughts recording artist Rhi, and young spoken word artist from London, Nego True, who features on the new single, Feel Me.

More than just a rapper, he’s a true poet as exemplified on this single. Feel Me is one of the most personal tracks on the album as Nego opens up on a close relationship in his unmistakable tones. Encouraged by Joris with his personal situation taking the next step, here Nego writes and raps about moving in with his partner and his ambitions to raise a family.

Once again, Joris creates new challenges for himself by working with artists outside of his immediate musical sphere. His seemingly endless search to shine a light on new and exciting talent, as well as his tireless work to discover the old and reinvent the new will surely see him break new ground and gain new followers for years to come.

Feiertag - Feel Me feat. Nego True

Flute Boy is a harbinger of the forthcoming debut album Songs for Broken Ships by MD Pallavi and Andi Otto. The two tracks are physically exclusive to the 7“ single but are in the digital package of the LP album.

Flute Boy is a folktronica lullaby, a cute waltz with traces of dub and acid in the finish. The B-side, Look Again, presents an almost neoclassical ballad with MD Pallavi's vocals floating expansively over a wonderful framedrum groove.

MD Pallavi & Andi Otto first crossed paths on a theatre stage in India ten years ago. They started collaborating instantly and in 2016 MD Pallavi's mesmerizing vocals for the downtempo raga Bangalore Whispers warmed hearts and ears. Their musical relationship flourished with artistic residencies in Bangalore and Hamburg, their respective hometowns, and a concert tour in Japan.

On their new recordings, MD Pallavi contributes songwriting for poems in her native Kannada, one of India's many languages. Andi Otto co-composed and produced the songs. The process took three years, and the results show an interwoven aesthetic vision of two artists with their contrasting musical backgrounds.

MD Pallavi is a singer, actress, filmmaker and performer from Bangalore, South-India, where she trained in Hindustani music and performed poetry since childhood. Andi Otto is a composer, cellist and DJ from Hamburg, Germany, known for his idiosyncratic and unconventional dance music productions for labels such as Multiculti, Shika Shika and Pingipung.

The album Songs for Broken Ships (LP/dig) will be released May 12th 2023 on Pingipung.

World-Renowned Brazilian DJ, producer, DJ Tahira, shares an exclusive unreleased edit for Brazilian artist, Letícia Fialho, taken from his forthcoming vinyl EP of edits and remixes, "Minhas Versões (My Versions)”, on his own imprint, Poeira Music

The record will feature six captivating tracks on vinyl for the very first time, showcasing Tahira's exceptional talent for remixing and editing. Two of whom have never been on released before on any format.

Hailing from Brasilia, Leticia Fialho and her beautiful "Corpo e Canção" receive Tahira's magical touch, with Afro-Brazilian Ijexá rhythm influences and a captivating exploration of the melodic theme. 

Other highlights on the EP include Tahira's organic Maculele Edit of the already classic "Banho de Folhas" by Luedji Luna, long a secret weapon for a select cadre of DJ, it draws inspiration from the ancestral rhythm Maculele, a fundamental element of the globally renowned Baile Funk sound. 

A fusion of Latin and samba influences, Tahira's rework of the 2000s hit "Meu Esquema" by Mundo Livre S.A. + Bruno Pedrosa offers a fresh perspective on the original samba bossa nova track. Tha Tahira remix of New Zealand’s “Chi Chi Cha Cha” by Latinaotearoa invites listeners on a journey through Latin sounds blended seamlessly with Brazilian influences, featuring the enchanting vocals of Ully Costa.

A masterful blend of samba beats and synths, Tahira's SambaJazz Instrumental Remix of "Iroke", by Edground showcases his ability to create genre-defying musical experiences. Previously only available digitally on the NYC label Bastard Jazz, Tahira’s remix of “Moqueca” by the exciting trio of Captain Planet Zuuka Poderosa and Raphael Futura, combines Brazilian Ijexá and Latin cumbia percussion in an irresistible uptempo beat.

Known for his trailblazing musical contributions, DJ Tahira has been a force to reckon with in the international music scene for over a decade. His remarkable journey took a massive leap with his remarkable re-edit of Gilberto Gil’s iconic "Toda Menina Baiana", championed by global trend setters such as Gilles Peterson, Mr Scruff, Laurent Garnier, DJ Harvey, and Jamie XX. Tahira’s edit ignited dance floors worldwide and solidified his status as a pioneering DJ and producer. 

DJ Tahira has become a global music luminary, performing at prestigious venues, festivals and platforms, such as Glastonbury, Montreux Jazz Festival, Boiler Room, Love Supreme, Lot Radio, and Worldwide FM.
