Adam Beyer invites the legendary DJ Rush to make his Drumcode debut, as the pair link for a stirring maiden collaboration, ‘Restore My Soul’.

The DC boss holds a deep respect for the iconic Chicago artist, the relationship stretching back 25+ years to their time touring the German techno circuit in the 90s. The title track builds dramatic tension via elastic synths that oscillate alongside Rush’s vocal, taking things to heady levels. ‘Control’ is a thick wedge of industrial-edged rhythms, with Rush’s famous vocal providing a commanding presence throughout. ‘Take Me There’ is stirring in composition, transitioning from crushing percussive loops to deep techno funk, before working towards a teased out crescendo as Rush’s hypnotic refrain echoes in the air. A deliciously pumping DJ Rush remix of ‘Restore My Soul’ rounds out the package.

A producer with 20 years of experience perfecting his craft, we’re excited to welcome Ramon Tapia to Drumcode for his debut EP.

The artist previously contributed a pair of cuts to the A-Sides series in recent years with ‘Sonic Therapy’ and Drum Control’, while also playing the Drumcode stage at Tomorrowland in 2019. Elsewhere he’s dropped heat on Truesoul, led by the crisp groover ‘Manipulate’. His ascension to Drumcode for his first full-fledged solo EP release is richly deserved.  

As with so many during the past year, Tapia’s taken his studio work in colourful and interesting directions. ‘The Future of Mankind’ is a multi-faceted beast. The title track is a straight-up weapon, driven by an ascendent riff that’s energetic and hopeful in equal doses. ‘Song of Sirens’ sees ambient pads and rolling percussion combine for a quality cut every DJ needs. ‘Screwdriver’ does what it promises on the tin; guttural and textured, it’s a necessary transitional tool for every techno set. ‘Hold On’ is the kind of emotion charged dance music that’ll make us go collectively weak at the knees when raving returns. We’re already excited to hear it rinsed at Drumcode Festival in Malta this September, when Tapia joins the party.

Senso Sounds Level 08 introduces four new tracks by rising stars that hone in on that special vibe Senso has become synonymous with. First up is Mehmet Özbek, the DJ/Producer from Istanbul. 
Having garnered support from some of the biggest names in the scene, Özbek showcases why he’s held in such high regard - 'Milky Way' is a trippy, firing techno cut that combines subtlety and power in equal measures. 
Likewise, Eme Kulhnek provides a fierce track full of energy and precision. 
'Infinite' highlights why the Argentinian producer has been championed by the likes of Richie Hawtin - a stripped down sound that remains full of detail. 
SEQU3L’s 'Frisbee' is also a track bursting with ideas and passion - its infectious groove hits home from the outset and develops into a true techno roller. 
Hamburg’s own Mørk & Julien Riess complete the quartet of tracks, presenting 'Red Spade' as their contribution. It’s a tightly coiled, trippy techno cut that builds to fever pitch over the course of its
duration.

@alanfitzpatrick teams up with @reset-robot for We Are The Brave’s latest offering, "The Cosmic Opera". 

These two life long collaborators and friends join forces for a wonky analogue journey on Angstrom. Tough drums, jazzy hats and rubbery bass form solid foundations as the synths begin to work overtime mutating into some really crazy sounds.

Taking the rich fabric of the original motifs, @user-anfisaletyagodj creates a deep organic remix perfectly transcribing the original’s energy and menace while adding her own funky stamp.

Reset Robot goes solo on "Lucky Pig" weaving a darkly epic tale of tension and release. Building gradually to the first break, a sense of foreboding is resolved as the track thunders in the mid section. The main break strips back to basics: A kick and sonics giving no clue of direction. The final section is a barrage for the senses.

Opening with wildly overdriven kicks and phased shakers, "The Light" sees Alan Fitzpatrick in full on industrial warehouse mode. Pads rise as the percussions become more intense ramping up the tension all the way through.

Hailing from Serres, Greece, young producers Bleur & MB1 have a fourteen year friendship behind them, and it’s obviously translated to a deep, easy chemistry in the studio. Following the inclusion of their belter single “Humans” on the last Second State SUM compilation, the duo now releases this stormy EP, pulling the listener into darker terrain. 

“Shock” does exactly that: jolts the listener into a hypnotic trance with a roof-raising combination of metallic, springy synths, a thwacking kick, and explosive FX. The mood is more restrained on “Belfast”, adding a layer of foreboding to the relatively spare opening passage, which eventually veers into trippy, spooky territory thanks to eerie pads and droney synth blurts. “NL Industry”, meanwhile, adds interest to grey low end with bleepy keys and engine revs that become gradually louder and sharper as the track progresses, culminating in a disorienting, thumping delirium. 

This EP cements their status as stars in the making. It’s an exciting sign of what’s to come from this dynamic duo.
