XX is a debut single from Tori Music, the new Label created in 2020 from the german producer Jacob Groening based in Berlin. 

Four tracks form the first Ep which marks the last production which is being released from productions created by Jacob Groening in 2020. The first track is an electronic piece without percussions. An interlude becomes a synthetic orchestra with unforeseen effects and ending. Ladok combines chords with cut off staccato arpeggios with a Iranian voice that hugs the song composition in one piece. XX is the title track of this ep and is the more demanding track but at the same time soft and pulsating. Enjoy varanasi the last track which is a more expressive instrumental track.

Luca Musto is back with this second single from his debut album “Nice Place, Bad Intentions”. “Infiltrate” takes the listeners on a musical ride, as they follow the protagonists advancing further into the city of Berlin. The soundtrack to this journey materializes as a chill downtempo track. Teaming up with Cologne based guitarist Simon Bahr, the duo fuses the classic structure of electronic music with funky guitar licks and unconventional chord transitions.

Cicada is the name of an insect that makes a very familiar summer sound. I used this sound in the first version of the track as percussion but I eventually removed it as it was taking too much space. Every track that I make starts with an intention that is quite different from the outcome and sometimes even the founding elements are replaced. In this case, the cicada sound inspired me in the entire process but was no longer needed when the track could live by itself.

Ninon Corpet is a friend of mine. She’s not a professional singer but I thought that her voice would fit well with the universe of this track. Ninon’s high pitched voice matches with the fairy-like atmosphere that I wanted to achieve for Cicada.

This is the only Phaune track with a voice. I spontaneously write only instrumental music. I like voices but I’m not very comfortable using them and I don't write lyrics. But this time, it just felt like the thing to do. Also this track has a certain pop feeling I think. It is therefore drifting a bit away from my universe.

I wanted to create a “funky forest” feeling. I like when music feels inhabited with living forms. This is where my alias comes from. Electronic music is a great way to create fantasy worlds that you can populate with funny creatures. Though the sounds refer mostly to vegetal stuff, some of them sound like animals to me.

"yours (+)" is being released as the only finished flip i had at the time on my folder. It was the simplest beat i had done at the time. Did not even like it this much.

Weirdly enough, i invented (and i'm pretty sure about this because nobody else had done this at the time) lofi-house (even tho i did not choose to develop this sub-genre), and many million plays/streams/views later across all platforms, "yours (+)" solidified its spot as one of the "giants" in the chill/lofi-house.

6 years later, i decided to upload the original instrumental, without @alinabaraz's vocals, for your listening pleasure.

Thank you for making those past 6 years an incredible run as far as "yours (+)" goes, and hope to see you around for everything "zodivk" and "(+)".
