Danish artist Be Svendsen combines once more with the Crosstown Rebels crew, following on from his emphatic NU 'Man O To' remix, which landed in late February. The latest collaboration comes in the form of the new 'Twilight in Tankwa' EP, it comes with two original cuts as well as a remix from Berlin native Nico Stojan. Lasse Bruhn Svendsen ,as he's known to his friends and family, has been a proponent of refreshing electronic music since his emergence in 2014 and the work he started continues with yet another special record. The title track is a slow-winding groover that's coated with intricate melodic touches, while an engrossing atmosphere rotates around a punchy drum ensemble. DJs are a nomadic people. Drifting between venues, airports and hotel rooms, they’re always on the hunt for new music and clubbing activity. They are, indeed, the Bohemians of the 21st Century. Or as Britta Arnold, unders and Noraj Cue would call them: Happy Campers.

Joep Mencke, one of the happies campers of them all, and his soul-propelling masterpiece, Asiri, is the perfect piece of music to usher in the Spring. “Music takes me on a journey. A journey that makes me want to close my eyes and wander off to wherever the melodies take me,” Joep has been quoted as saying. And the ‘me’ that wanders when eyes are closed is the essence of ‘me’ that dreams. Some would call that the soul.

Asiri is a soul-scape that celebrates all the complexities of life from a place of joy and gratitude. With soaring melodies, complex arpeggiators and moments of reflective dimuendos, it pays homage to Joep’s journey and appreciation into music. In fact, it pays every journey homage which is likely why it is so universally well received.

From the DJ’s deck, Asiri has consistently brought people together on the dance floor. It’s as if Asiri reminds people to celebrate just being alive with all it’s complex, reflective and soaring moments.

These living legends of the progressive scene have graced Asiri with their unique touch. The new LOKD chapter was conceived by our dear friend @temple-tears, all the way from Paris, France. 

This whole EP is loaded with a distinctive flavour, something we have been missing in the scene lately. Expressing an absolute and characteristic focus on energetic progression around each original composition. 

LOKD009 is also welcoming our friends from @kermesselive with their remix of “Matilde”, which transforms the original into their own spectrum of what could be defined as truly organic sound. The second remix is by our very own @arutani, who takes a step back on suggesting a deeper and melodic approach in his re-interpretation for the track “Quentin”. 

We are proud to welcome Grégori into our little family, and to release the very first EP in his downtempo career.
