'Close your eyes and imagine you are on a dance floor. If there is one person you can trust with leading you into a miraculous realm of care and good music, it is the Heinz Music label boss himself, Prof. Dr. master of soul-vibrations Marcus Meinhardt. He has steered the label-ship steadily during this difficult time. Again and again he has given us releases with beautiful melodies and worry-healing grooves. And now he is back with a big two-tracker himself, "Mars Attack EP".

The title track ignites the starting engine with a smooth and catchy groove, while a playful synth is luring behind the tree. It swiftly surrounds you, asking for your trust as it takes you on a little journey towards heavy basslines, quirky synths and an uplifting and dreamy atmosphere. The melody resonates with a newfound positivity and joy over us all being able to meet on dance floors again.

Secondly, we are lead into the world of "Venus Vibes" and you immediately feel weightless. As if you are floating on a cloud, with the stars just at the tip of your hand. Dark synth plucks meet a vivid melody carrying a space-like background of organic percussions and wicked up-winding noise. It is heavy yet encouraging, and the perfect companion to "Mars Attack". We are happy to be back with you, and we are happy to be back with an EP by our very own Prof. Dr. Marcus Meinhardt, who is ready to steer the dance floor into an indestructible community of togetherness.'

Uncluttered space, focus on few elements and enough room for them to really unfold and shine: Mila Journée understands that such principles do not only work in the tangible world around us, but also in the ethereal spheres of electronic dance music. In Benjamin 136 the talented Brazilian producer spreads out breezy sound textures upon the subtle modulation of the deep groove as if they were wafts of morning mist over a lake. The swirling melody of Fleeting Dreams adds up with the rolling bassline and creates a solid load of energy, yet again the focus remains on the quality of the details, not on their quantity. Dystopian Spoken Word poetry and the feverish pounding of a groove that reminds us with a nasty smile of those days when parents were still worried when they heard Techno booming from the rooms of their children. Keeping up the spirit of those old days, Kernel Existence and Pauly create a futuristic banger that reflects the cravings of the time we live in like neon lights on a dark puddle in the urban backyard of some club. All these Sci- Fi connotations make @greenlakeproject the obvious choice for a Spuermaschine remix. Spiked with a solid dose of Acid and subtle melodic drama their version surely lives up to the intense atmosphere and excessive catchiness of the original.

London-based John Monkman is the founder of Beesemyer Music but also serves up his rich sounds on Kompakt, Last Night On Earth and Drumcode. He works across multiple styles and as much as making music for the club, he also cooks up richly atmospheric and emotive music. 

He has worked with Pete Tong, Bryan Ferry and Nile Rodgers and when on tour, he plays live in the world's best venues. First up is the immediately arresting 'Perception' with its flashes of synth, whirring drones and textured drums. Spoken words bring a sense of paranoia as twitchy effects, icy percussion and swinging drums all work you into a frenzy. Monkman took inspiration from a Timothy Leary interview for the record envisioning “a phrase repeating with a synthesizer response, in essence a conversation between man & machine”. 

Second cut 'Impulse' is a more groove-driven tune with kicks that rock back and forth under slapping hits. The synth designs are futuristic and the whole vibe is one of intergalactic exploration of the unknown. Both of these hugely accomplished tracks will bring a scene of cinematic drama to any set.

Just like the meandering course of a river, the sound of Mollono.Bass grows deeper and broader year after year. And just like water it has an irresistible attraction to it that makes even the most sober minds believe in magic. Now there’s the first fragments of Together, a new album, popping up at the surface of this mighty stream of creativity. It comes with melodic dreamscapes and subtle mantra-filtrations, as we can hear in To Utopia. There’s vocals that do something with our soul similar to a finger striking a guitar string, as we can feel in Dancer In The Dark. And of course there’s many, many reasons to get up and dance - like for instance the bass-heavy escapades, the grinding hi-hats, the frequent glitches in the gravitational force field and the understated hands- up-in-the-air moments of The Seekers.
