Pioneers of the New Romantic movement, Visage emerged in 1978 from the London club Blitz, a neo-glam nightspot which stood in stark contrast to the prevailing punk mentality of the moment. Spearheading Blitz's ultra-chic clientele were Steve Strange and DJ Rusty Egan, one time drummer with the Rich Kids. Steve Strange working with Rusty Egan and another Rich Kids alum, guitarist Midge Ure recorded music that would fit into the sound of the Blitz. In late 1978 they recorded a demo which yielded the first Visage single, an aptly futuristic cover of Zager & Evans' 'In the Year 2525’. Augmented by Ultravox keyboardist Billy Currie as well as three members of Magazine - bassist Barry Adamson, guitarist John McGeoch, and keyboardist Dave Formula - Visage released their first single 'Tar' on Martin Rushents Genetic Records in September 1979.

Powered by the rise of the New Romantic movement, on the August 1st 1980 Steve Strange signed a record deal with Polydor, as “Visage” (the other musicians were already signed via other bands and contributed via sideman agreements). The Visage self-titled debut LP followed. The album yielded a major single in "Fade to Grey," an instant club classic which heralded synth pop's imminent commercial breakthrough.

Founded by label boss Einmusik end of 2008, the imprint has grown to a large family with members from Beirut, Toronto, Madrid, Amsterdam and many more cities. To celebrate 10 Years of it’s creative journeys and visions, Einmusika asked some friends and highly respected musicians to pick their favourite track from the past 10 Years for a very particular remix. 

So this time we’ll bring ya „J’oublie“ remixed by Olivier Giacomotto - a big dancefloor number. Dave Seaman remixed Tim Engelhardt’s “Vega“ and this one stays in your mind for hours. 3000 Grad founder Mollono.Bass comes with a new version of “Multiple Life“ by Einmusik - one for the hot nights and the festivals around the globe. We asked Julian Wassermann about his fave Einmusika track and he picked “La Danse Du Scorpion“ by Sébastien Léger - the one which made the clubs shaking in 2017 and is now putted to the next level with a darker attitude and clubby sounds. Emotional and uplifting comes Paji’s version of “Starlings“ by N’to, what an unique remix - individual and spheric.

Every Journey Creates A New Sound – Einmusika’s trip continues and the label will manifest itself with many showcases and own festival stages till the end of 2019.

ATL023 takes us to the southern Italian province of Caserta for further evidence of a thriving Campania music scene as we unleash the sound of Ivan Masa. Ivan lands on ATLANT after just featuring on one of our favourite labels, Monaberry.

Lead cut ‘Vocoder’ is bold in experimentation with it’s whirring electronic lines juxtaposed against piano chords, as a dystopian robotic voice enters. The nagging groove throughout really gets under your skin and draws you in without mercy.

Powered by deep bass pulses ‘Back To School’ takes proceedings firmly onto the dance-floor. With sumptuous and addictive synth lines, crisp punchy beats and killer breakdowns this track is made for a smoke filled room late into the night.

By contrast ‘Guitar Rock’ showcases the compositional side of Ivan’s sound across a journey of floating synth lines, ringing melodies and subtle percussive crashes.

‘Dario’s Trip’ closes the EP with Autobahn inspired electronics and pads, pitched against a driving melody that will last long in the memory after the final beats ride out.

With so much quality music to bring you now and throughout 2019 these are truly exciting times for ATLANT. We hope you feel the buzz too.

Born in Caserta Ivan Masa began his relationship with music at an early age, inheriting a strong passion from his parents. Ivan began experimenting and producing in June 2007, and has gone on to feature on labels like Suara and EIN2.

2018 saw Ivan step things up and take his music to another level, with releases on Kintar’s Sudam Recordings and Super Flu’s über cool imprint Monaberry. We are very pleased to now welcome Ivan Masa to the ATLANT family.

The 73rd release on Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital begins 2020 with the sparkling "So Corrupted" from Mehmet Akar. A pair of outstanding remixes by veteran producers Sezer Uysal and Nihil Young and Talal complete the EP.

A producer with a rich artistic pedigree, Mehmet Akar quickly found himself making a sizeable impression in the underground dance fraternity. After success with his "Deep Sounds" and "2nd Resurrection" radio shows, the Turkish producer has hit the headlines with over 150 track credits for some of the industry's finest imprints. Moreover, as a winner of Sasha's "Cut Me Down" remix competition and a 2011 release on Last Night On Earth, Akar has gone on to see his music feature on Global Underground, Beatfreak Recordings, and Outside The Box. Making his debut as part of the "ADE 2017 Sampler", Mehmet Akar returns to Perspectives Digital with the mesmerizing "So Corrupted".

Both successful high-profile artists in their own rights, Nihil Young and Talal have found further achievement as a creative duo. Over 1 million streams of his track "Align" has seen Young stand out in a crowded market. His music for Kindisch, Warung, and his own Frequenza Records has seen the Italian produce highly original melodic, deep, and progressive house with a sprinkling of techno. Joining forces with Talal, the London based producer has been a key figure at events including Robot Hearts, Cream Amnesia Ibiza, and Amsterdam Dance Event. Music signed to the likes of Dear Deer, Natura Viva, and Colore have subsequently seen over a century of credits supported by Maceo Plex and Solomun.

Leipzig music hero Marcel Sterling aka Marc DePulse is back home with another timeless and strong EP called "Born Sleepy", including new four originals plus a remix by Turkish icon and avant-garde mind @murat-uncuoglu.

The opening track is "Born Sleepy", a timeless weapon with sweet intro, powerful rhythm and mind-blowing breakdown. The huge "Nevertheless" connects DePulse's indie touch with his last EP on Sincopat: super high-class synths and melodies into the beloved 90's atmosphere. Murat Uncuoglu offers a massive remix taking the original to the dance floor in a sharp but respecting the essence of the original mix. "Spumanta" is also breaking the rules of electronic music with an unpredictable base and composition.
