@souqrecordss' latest release comes from NAKRIZ, a Syrian trio of classically trained musicians, a live electronic brand of whirling tones and tastes. Reinterpreting a folk song named "Moniety", originating form the east side of Syria, Al Raqqah city. In their interpretation, Nakriz infuse the traditional lyrics & instrumentations with electronic influences from their new home Berlin. conveying their vision of a modern wedding rave. Hamburg electronic music duo with Syrian roots Shkoon delivers Underyourskin Records‘ next EP ‘Letters‘ - a musical clash of diverse folk and traditional influences fusing together with a downtempo house vibe. The dreamy ‘Ala Moj Al Bahr‘ plays with the symbiosis between oriental vocals and a desert like desolating sound construct that finds its peak in a melodic discrete synth oriented part that lets you feel the occident. JAVID‘s remix puts more emphasize on the folk elements of the original limiting the vocals to a minimum yet being so on point that the yearning for more is inevitable.

Whether it was a 3 month haul through the Sahara for trade, or a year long journey to secure food & water. We are all on one Darb or another, in constant flux and motion, from where we were, to where we are, then where we want to be.

Exciting Egyptian Electronic artists have teamed up on this compilation with 3 fresh tracks from the heart of the ever evolving music scene. Ahl El Maghna are the eternal "People of Song", while "Al Beat" is a classical Arabic ode to the Beat that keeps us all moving. "Tudan" can loosely translate to "Karma"; as you give, so shall you receive.
