'Close your eyes and imagine you are on a dance floor. If there is one person you can trust with leading you into a miraculous realm of care and good music, it is the Heinz Music label boss himself, Prof. Dr. master of soul-vibrations Marcus Meinhardt. He has steered the label-ship steadily during this difficult time. Again and again he has given us releases with beautiful melodies and worry-healing grooves. And now he is back with a big two-tracker himself, "Mars Attack EP".

The title track ignites the starting engine with a smooth and catchy groove, while a playful synth is luring behind the tree. It swiftly surrounds you, asking for your trust as it takes you on a little journey towards heavy basslines, quirky synths and an uplifting and dreamy atmosphere. The melody resonates with a newfound positivity and joy over us all being able to meet on dance floors again.

Secondly, we are lead into the world of "Venus Vibes" and you immediately feel weightless. As if you are floating on a cloud, with the stars just at the tip of your hand. Dark synth plucks meet a vivid melody carrying a space-like background of organic percussions and wicked up-winding noise. It is heavy yet encouraging, and the perfect companion to "Mars Attack". We are happy to be back with you, and we are happy to be back with an EP by our very own Prof. Dr. Marcus Meinhardt, who is ready to steer the dance floor into an indestructible community of togetherness.'

Dear Deer Records have had an exceptional 2018 and that continues with a new EP from Steve Glass. Entitled Sirius, it features three tracks from the man himself plus remixes from Jobe, Kiko and DAF. 

Opener and title track Sirius is a spine tingling tech house tune with majestic melodies rippling over the top of succulent drums. Heavenly vocals add to the spiritual nature of the tune and it's a real winner. Jobe reworks it subtly with something even more tender with glassy piano keys. 

Leonis then has darker, more rumbling bass down low and a real sense of suspense that keeps you locked. The Kiko remix is more urgent and driving, with a late night sense of tension in the rubbery drums and broad synth strokes. 

Gliese is a more uplifting track, with pads reaching up to the heavens and happy keys bringing an icy but happy feeling to the moody drums. Last of all DAF, gets more intense, with layer upon layer or rich melody, xylophone sounds and cosmic keys. It closes out another fantastic EP from a very consistent label.

Swiss artist @philipport drops a new release on Suleiman following his prior releases on high-flying imprints ranging from Kevin Saunderson’s KMS Records to Fabric and Get Physical. The two stripped back and melodic originals are also accompanied by remixes from Inxec and @robbabicz, who each put their own stamp on the EP.

“Humans Like Us” opens up the release with tribal percussion rhythms and the building tension of epic synth pads, but it’s the inspirational vocal monologue that gives the track its charismatic personality. First to step up on remix duty is Robert Babicz, whose rework of "Humans Like Us" takes a deeper more atmospheric approach with stripped back percussion allowing for the synths to become the main focus of this cosmic version. ‘Out of the Dark I’ kicks off with ‘Tesla’: all sweeping soundscapes, with an other-worldy energetic flow. Title track ‘Out of the Dark’ emerges from the shadows in a flourish of melodic techno that is equally danceable but also channels a loungey vibe. 

So laid back it’s almost horizontal, ‘Embrace’ is laced with groovy little undertones. Melting from one mellifluous form into the next,  ‘Shapes’ soars with a strong yet subtle undertow of chunky riffs.  Jiggler pours the good vibes into the consistently uplifting ‘Hope’, an ode to positive feelings and brighter days.

Opening the doors of perception is ‘Flyby’, an experimental interlude of dreamy melodia which invites you to dream.

Born of daydreams, the first edition of Jiggler’s ‘Out of the Dark’ albums reference distorted perceptions and the glorious possibilities of magic which happen when you lose yourself on the dance floor.
