Production

The introduction of the track is composed of spacious synths, with the reverberation of light drumming to punctuate the unfolding soundscape. It quickly evolves to highlight the somber depth of tone delivered by the vocalist. The emerging bassline reveals a stark contrast to the vocalist's eerie and laced lyrics of conformance and obedience, while the natural drums provide the rhythm that carries the track. 

The middle of the song brings a calm breakdown, settling the listener down before the kick drum and bassline provide the climactic centerpiece. A downward progression leads into a slow fade - the looming undertone to match the daunting question posed by the lyrics.

The Reckoning (Vocal Edit) ft Georgia Carter

The second collaboration between long time friends: Whispers from the Sea draws on the vibe of their previous release 'Headrush' on Suid Tronica, builds on that flow with moody chords, an exciting bassline and beautiful vocals.

This release has some Harry Charles inspired synths, piano and guitar driven breakdowns with a hard hitting Downtempo climax. The vocals infer a struggle between city life and leaving everything behind for a love affair with the sea.

After 2 choruses and their accompanying breakdowns, the song fades into a mellow outro where the narrative implies settling down, wherever that could be.

This dragon painting will bring great honor to the village when we present it to the magistrate.” “Wasted on the magistrate,” the master said under his breath, so softly that only I could hear. “A conceited, self-important man, who, when only the imperial family is allowed to use the image of a dragon, commissions one. Now that his son has married the king’s daughter, Magistrate Tiger will do anything to flaunt his power and overstretch his authority. But this painting will buy his favor and free the village from his unfair taxes.”
Figura Retorica bring the tales of Shamanism into the light of this universe. This is their first offering for Shango Records. These tracks are as mellow as a sweet fruit. Adari and Sinai (IT) drink mush flowers and dream of atomic mellows.

As sight came into both my eyes, a warm feeling filled me — like drinking hot tea on a cold day. I felt strength come into my arms and hands and legs and feet and my neck and head stretched for the first time. All the loud yells I had wanted to make now came rushing out of my mouth and I gave a huge roar that made the magistrate fall over. “It has come alive!” I heard him gasp and I heard the servants screaming, “Dragon! It has come alive! Dragon!” I knew this was my chance to free myself from Magistrate Tiger. I jumped from where I was and rushed over everyone, knocking down desks and chairs and columns. I saw the blue sky and green leaves through a window, went toward it, and simply crashed through the wall to get through. As I left, the building was falling down and all the people were yelling. “Dragon!” they screamed. “Dragon!”. Dare (RU) takes a slow deep dive into traditions. This is his first offering for Shango Records. These three tracks can increase the level of kindness. Hoani Teano, Jon Sweetname, Menori and Unja float with the wind these modular days.
