Our current guest is one of the finest among these bearers of goods and carriers of moods that take us along for rides that crisscross borderless spaces of imagination and emotion. Colombia-based, Brasilian-born DJ Hermano loves to move the rhythmic riches of these two places he calls home back and forth, but also further beyond, cross-pollinating traditions and defying definitions in the process.  Something he accomplishes in manifold ways, from delicious, ferocious mixes such as this one to the magnificent work done by his label, Intimas. All of them being fruit of the same devotion to musical discovery and corporeal liberation, one that is not only fed by scholarly lust, but mainly borne out of brotherly love.

Quem chega com tudo para a nossa edição 166 é a carioca Martha Pinel. Atualmente morando em São Paulo, ela comemora uma década na carreira musical, onde iniciou o projeto Croma no Rio de Janeiro, transformando a cena alternativa da época. 

De lá pra cá, já explorou diferentes sonoridades, chegando ao que hoje define como uma fusão única de musicalidades étnicas do que há de mais cool produzido no Brasil e no mundo - com foco em ritmos africanos e do oriente médio, space e italo disco, balearic, dance music, house. Tudo que seja groovy.

E esse mix representa bem a pesquisa bastante peculiar da Martha: a combinação de influências étnicas é construída sob um filtro late 80's / early 90's, sempre com doses saudáveis house, piano e groove, fazendo de cada virada uma nova maneira de se mexer e dançar. Lock in <3

Milos Kaiser is already confirmed for Dekmantel Selectors this August, and the São Paolo selector is exactly the sort of man you want to hear playing on a sunny beach. Over the past decade he has constantly excited people with his far ranging sets of rare and unknown gems. They represent every facet of Brazil's rich musical tapestry but always become dance floor heaters in his hands. He runs his own bar, Caracol, with friends, and is known for making his own edits of the tunes he plays.

Over 70 minutes here he goes deep into a smorgasbord of synth sounds from tropical to pop, darker to more electro tinged. There are long legged and laid back grooves to get you slowly bumping, and more punchy tracks that get hands in the air and the good times flowing. All in all it makes for a joyous listen that is so warm and bright you will almost be able to feel the rays on your face and the sand between your toes.
