Esto es un villancico con toque trokero. Queríamos algo que reflejara el lado sombrío de la situación nacional, el estruendo cultural en el que estamos inmersos y por supuesto nuestras raíces.
Así fue como resultó un cover oscuro pero lleno de riqueza y brillantez, como nuestro corazón mexicano. Con esta versión de Peces en el Río queremos celebrar esta época navideña con profunda reflexión, luto respetuoso y esperanza desbordada para transformarla en bríos positivos y hacer del 2015 un año mejor para todos y todas.

So this is a carol with a Troker touch; we wanted something that reflect the dark side of the Mexican social-political situation, cultural rumble in which we are immersed and of course our roots.
The result is a dark but full of richness and brilliance christmas cover, just as our Mexican hearts. With this version of “Peces en el río” (Fishes in the river) Troker wants to celebrate this holiday season with deep reflection, respectful mourning and overflowing hope to turn it into positive unbridled vigor and make 2015 a better year for everyone.

Troker fue invitado por la Cineteca Nacional para componer un nuevo score para la película más importante del cine mudo mexicano, El Automóvil Gris de 1919.  Después de 5 años de presentar el espectáculo en vivo con la proyección de la película y la banda en vivo, Troker decidió darle el tratamiento de canciones a su composición de 147 minutos y así poder editarlas para este disco.

Troker was invited in 2011 by the National Film Institute of México to commission a new film score for one of the earliest examples of the silent film era in México. After 5 years of performing the live show with the screening of the film and the live band, Troker decided to give the 147 minutes score a "songs treatment" so they could edit an album.

"One Thousand Million Eyes", es la canción en la que  trasladamos nuestro constante encuentro con lo diverso en la música, al mundo cotidiano; creemos en la posibilidad de compartir y coincidir con el otro, con aquel igual o diferente, bajo una mirada empática y sin prejuicios. Es urgente recurrir de nuevo a nuestra humanidad para no olvidar que al final, todos somos iguales.

One Thousand Million Eyes (feat. Renee Mooi), the first single to feature a vocalist. This song translocates our encounter and appropriation of the diversity in the music, to the everyday world; sharing and harmonizing with the other, with the different one, looking into each other eyes with empathy, without prejudice, stripping our humanity so that we don’t forget that in the end, we are all equal.

Since 2004 they have earned the respect of the public without becoming famous, and even so, they've enjoyed the most important stages of jazz, rock, and world music; in addition to recording a Tiny Desk Concert in 2018 and being the only band in the world that has appeared two years in a row on the official Glastonbury Festival lineup.
