Catalyst is the solo project of London based Mark Brogden who is the younger brother of Paul Brogden (POB / Union Jack).

Conceived over 22 years ago, ‘The Chamber’ was originally released in ’93 on Colin Faver’s influential label Rabbit City (early Aphex Twin / Spiral Tribe etc), after it was performed at the legendary Knowledge night at SW1 Club in London and featured on a mix tape by Sven Vath.

The Chamber is an evocation of an incredible journey that takes the mind through wonderful realms of science fiction, glimpsing on possibilities presented by advanced extra-terrestrial forms. Strong orchestration, fine control of synthesised sounds, intense arpeggios and pacy rhythms propel the listener forward through the three interconnecting movements and their internal passages. Experience the whole journey in this 21 minute electronic masterpiece.

Movements and their passages:

Movement One: Approach, aurora, marching, acceleration, grande hall
Movement Two: Electric data storm, data communique overload
Movement Three: Time, space, motion

Seahorse: Brush through the shallow warm tropical waters, air pockets bubbling up from the seabed and underwater plant-life gently sway. The expanse opens up and the seahorse is revealed in all it’s enigmatic glory.

Airwave - The Man, The Legend - returns to Bonzai Progressive with a delicious helping of the most beautiful trance in The Quest For Beauty which comes complete with two superb remixes from Jam El Mar and Airwave's own Fuel Terrace Remix. What more can be said about this guy, he just keeps on giving and surprising his army of followers with every production and with a career spanning over 20 years, Airwave's profile just keeps on rising. More recently he has been delighting his fans with a mixture of videos that cover everything from production tutorials, reviews and critiques as well as some very interesting live casts that take place on the way to or during his gigs, check out Airwave's social media spots for more on these as they are fast becoming quite regular and much anticipated. This Summer has already been a very busy one for Airwave, Legacy Festival, Tomorrowland, Luminosity, Retro Beach and others are just a sample of where you got to hear some classic sets. Coming up very soon you lucky people down under can expect to hear an Airwave set at Bad Habit in Perth which follows a return to Gatecrasher for their Reunion bash. Lots more to come from this guy so it's well worth staying tuned in.

The Quest For Beauty - Original Mix boasts a long intro made up of some wonderfully crafted soundscapes that lead into a powerful driving trance groove full of melodies and euphoria. The cinematic qualities that we know and love are present making this another epic slice from the man himself and we've no doubt this one will be a firm favourite among many.

First up on the remix we have the legendary Jam El Mar, an artist who championed the trance sound from the very early days alongside his friend and studio partner the late, great Mark Spoon as Jam & Spoon. For many years this guy has brought his super-charged sets to countless festivals and parties across Europe, as well as producing some of the most memorable tracks ever to be created (Stella, Follow Me, Odyssey To Anyoona, Tripomatic Fairytales 2001 and 2002 anyone?) We're delighted to have him on board at Bonzai Progressive and hope to see more in the future. Here he delivers a solid, deep and moody progressive groove full of lush tones and a pounding, driving beat. The break features a sublime vocal sequence that fits the sound perfectly before we get back into full on mode for the duration.

Up next is Airwave's own Fuel Terrace Remix which is inspired by the Beach Bar at Fuel in Amsterdam. This time we go full on driving progressive with a chugging bassline and some tasty synths, strings and pads. An underlying acid line moves the sound beautifully while the super sweet melodies draw you in.

Kicking things off in all its original glory, ‘Anaconda’ is a pulsating, writhing beast. Blurring any out-dated notions of separation between musical styles, Simon expertly blends the past and future to build a powerfully evocative, highly original, euphoric masterpiece. 

Torsten Fassbender summons all his snake-charming skills to mesmerise with an equally dynamic and creative, boundary breaking remix – the peak point where experimental meets ecstatic is an enlightened place to be. 

Anyone who has tuned into Kiz Pattison’s recent exploits on labels such as Minus, Deer Deer, Perfecto Black and Bush, will know of his penchant for minimalist productions with maximum impact. Accordingly, his masterful reworking of ‘Anaconda’ swirls with restrained explosive energy, before breaking into a beautifully melodic finale.

As one half of Union Jack and label boss at the legendary Platipus Records, Simon Berry has played an instrumental role in the evolution of the global progressive house scene for almost three decades. Most recently his collaborative project with Luke Brancaccio has seen the duo top the charts with a series of exceptional releases for John Digweed’s Bedrock, Yousef’s Circus, and Platipus itself.

Simon’s debut solo outing ’Black Rainbow’ (PLATMU100) released at the beginning of 2019, was featuring in the Top 10 Beatport Progressive House chart some 5 months after it first emerged. If history repeats itself, his stunning follow-up single ‘Anaconda’ will be riding a similar wave of support for many months to come too.
