HEIT is a new downtempo mix series that offers insight into the slower-tempo back catalogue of DJs and musical artists from various genres.

Wax Material, a London-based artist who also runs a mobile record store under the same name. Having developed her sound in Ibiza and Romania, Wax Material is known for upbeat, party-ready sets packed with deep, minimal grooves, cheeky basslines, stripped-back house, minimal garage, 2-step, swung jazz, and textural minimal. She regularly plays for renowned events such as Slapfunk, Beeyou, and is a regular at UK festivals such as Gottwood.

For this special Glastonbury set, Wax Material took a different approach — creating a smooth, mellow journey with a selection of rare and cherished records quietly collected over the years. These are the kinds of tracks often kept to herself — enjoyed in private moments, rather than shared on dance floors — making this mix a unique window into that side of her musical world.

Launching HEIT with this recording felt like the perfect way to set the tone for the series.

After laying the groundwork with Two Opposites’ “Electropobia EP”, OWL - the white-label offshoot of OPIA Records - returns with its second release, proving once again why the parent label is celebrated for its forward-thinking, eclectic approach. This time, it’s Artem Stan who takes the reins, delivering his “Exotic Cruise EP” and steering the series into dreamy, proggy waters.

The opener, “Exotic Cruise (Dreams Primates Version)”, feels like a sun-drenched voyage designed for late afternoons that seamlessly bleed into neon nights. Built around a glistening synth line that drifts and sways with a hypnotic ease, the track slowly layers its momentum, creating a groove that’s equal parts patient and irresistible. A long, sweet break stretches the anticipation to its limits, granting dancers just enough space to breathe before the loop returns, sweeping them right back into motion.

This version is as much a tease as it is a release: playful, radiant, and utterly transportive. Exclusive Peo Watson & Mainro 'Chardon Mary (Lazaros Remix)'

French label Family NAME is set to release its 22nd release in late September. Therefore NAME festival affiliates Peo Watson & Mainro joined forces to produce 'Chardon Mary', which is probably their most techno-ish approach to music so far. Cologne based DJ and producer Lazaros took over the remix duties. The artist, who has released on Kompakt-run label KX and Sum Over Histories, keeps the vibe from the original take but focuses on a reduced and raw bassline sprinkling spooky sounds into the track's build-up before taking on the original lead-synth-pads to create a mystic-mind-trip that is supported by twirling bleeps. Turning around the phrase 'the calm before the storm' Lazaros tames the track's impetus and returns to calmer sound-sceneries to close the track.

Peo Watson & Mainro's EP 'Chardon Mary' will be released September 25th, 2018 on Family NAME.
