Tron is as Tron does. And what Tron does, Tron does well. Tron spins. Tron digs. Tron regulates (Tron definitely regulates). Like his namesake, the Tronald gilds everything he touches; only difference is, Tron’s joints don’t just sparkle, they’re solid all the way through. True enough, Tron’s crates go deep: the influences in his mixes extend way past the radio, way beyond any genre du jour, usually ending up right in that sweet spot where the rawest hip hop blends into the classic house and disco that shaped it. It’s all the same city, just different streets and none know them better than Tron.

 Since being put on at Skratch Bastid’s legendary Blizzarts “Stay Fly” parties, Tronald Trump has been holding down his native Montreal with regular appearances at Lola Lounge, CODA, and a 3-year run with the Usual Suspects Saturday crew at Blue Dog. More recently, Tron’s been working with friends at Lookout and Clark Street to book and play alongside dance music luminaries like Jesse Rose, Kingdom, and Roska. That range is what makes the big man so special – no matter the venue or the big name on the bill, it’s exclusively about the music. Whether he’s playing a festival set at Picnik Electronik, warming up the club for the legends like DJ Premier, or tearing up the after hours spot, Tron brings an authenticity that’s all heart, no gimmick. In this Serato age of instant gratification and shallow hype, it’s refreshing to witness a true DJ’s DJ put in the work to carve out and maintain his own lane.
