Manchester-based producer Demetae explores new territories in 'Space-Time Sleaze', released on La Mano's essential Sound du Jour imprint. Channelling 90s R&B, 808 god Egyptian Lover, and the widescreen science fiction of legends like Drexciya, Demetae has crafted three wild and smartly programmed slabs of intergalactic salaciousness that herald an exciting new chapter in the producer's output. The title track drags the aliens and freaks to the dancefloor with a thicc, bass heavy workout, face-scrunching acid lines and a zealous vocoded vocal, preaching from the pulpit the good news of the church of sleaze. The dance leaves the floor and heads skyward with 'Calculate' - where vibrant rushes of cascading arps open the curtain to a concealed space port off the shoulder of Orion. It's a masterclass in lean, stripped back electro, allowing each element to thrive in the stunningly rendered, sci-fi enriched mix. For the final movement, Demetae takes us into the corrosive badlands, the percussion riled up and fixing to dart away at warp speed at any given point. The acid is supremely squelchy, with wavering, uneasy pads and synths as bright as burning phosphorous sitting either side of the wild, tetchy rhythm. It's a violent spark of vitality concealed in an electro body, ending the EP on a celestial high.

Eddie Reynolds aka Tr One/Themisto Man is a DJ and producer based in Carlow, Ireland. A much-respected figure within Ireland’s fertile electronic music scene, Reynolds cites the likes of Dublin’s D1 Recordings, Kraftwerk and J Dilla as early influences. Equally inspired by vintage sounds from Chicago and Detroit. 

Fast-forward over close to 15 years and although the project may now consist of Reynolds only, his dedication to all things house, techno and electro remains unwavering. A prolific producer, Reynolds’ sounds have led him to some of his country’s most-renowned labels, including Lunar Disko, Apartment, Bodytonic, 393 and Pogo and his new imprint Intrinsic Rhythm. What’s more, his music has earned the respect of numerous high-profile names such as Moodymann, Laurent Garnier, Prosumer and many more and has been remixed by a stellar cast including Scott Ferguson, Sonja Moonear, Cignol, Dechord, Lerosa and John Heckle.


From a DJ perspective, Reynolds has played in all of Ireland and Dublin’s foremost nightspots including Twisted Pepper, Wigwam, Tengu, District 8 and beyond in Belfast, London, Manchester and Berlin.  A DJ with a truly eclectic vision, this is represented in the names he has played alongside. From Juan Atkins to DJ Stingray to Helena Hauff, Dave Clarke, Surgeon, Jeff Mills, DVS1,  Maurice Fulton and Steffi, Reynolds is a DJ capable of stepping up under any occasion. From a live perspective he blazed a trail in Ireland with a unique hardware based live show which was recently resurrected for 2022's Open Ear Festival and will be performing further dates in 2023.


Reynolds’ latest endeavours have brought him to release an acclaimed debut album on his new imprint Intrinsic Rhythm and prior to this releases on scene-shaping British label Don’t Be Afraid (where in 2019 he released one of his most-cherished releases to date, the magnificent ‘A Month Has Passed’ EP), as well as Lunar Disko, where he collaborated again, this time alongside compatriot R Kitt on the no-less-emphatic sounds of LDRX7 as well as the solo ChiCarlow EP. With recent releases on Mexican imprint Short Attention, Tokyo based Ashigakari and Dublin imprint First Cut these are exciting times for one of Ireland’s most consistent electronic music producers.


He also has released under new alias Themisto Man and is continuing to work and release music from his base in Carlow, Ireland and will soon ready his second vinyl release on Intrinsic Rhythm complete with a remix by Mihail P and has future plans for the label including work by John Heckle and more.
