Tokyo’s Risa Taniguchi returns to Chris Liebing’s CLR with the ‘So Loud’ EP. The two-track EP follows up a collaborative EP with Black Asteroid on the label in 2022.

Risa Taniguchi’s title track to her ‘So Loud’ EP on CLR is a brilliantly alluring, stripped-back workout built on thudding kicks. The twitchy synth motifs bring a foreboding atmosphere next to raw percussion, all elements creeping in intensity. The electrifying 'Emission' brings more nervous energy with fizzing synths layering in rich texture over clacking hits and rolling bass. There's an unsettling sense of cosmic turbulence throughout this most stylish of tracks, making for a powerful and essential pair of cuts to lock the crowds in for a late-night trip.

At the forefront of the Japanese techno scene, Risa Taniguchi’s music on labels like Second State and Kneaded Pains mixes dark, lo-fi sound, distorted textures, and slow-burning energy that always hits its mark. She first arrived on Chris Liebing’s CLR in 2022 alongside Black Asteroid with the ‘Acid Flesh’ EP, which won the support of artists like Luke Slater, Blawan, Amelie Lens, and many more - once again excelling with her solo ‘So Loud’ EP this May.

Tronic is one of the most established and longest-running techno labels in the world. Founded in 1994 by Christian Smith while he was attending University, the label now has over 430 releases under its belt. Christian and his team have paved the way for many artists including ANNA, Dosem, Wehbba, and more recently Drunken Kong. Tronic's main philosophy is simple: nonpurist, honest, house and techno. The label has released countless of artist albums and is regularly supported by the top players in the industry. Some outstanding releases have been Christian Smith's remixes of Carl Craig's seminal 'At Les" song, which has become one of the biggest vinyl sales releases of the past decade. Other notable releases and remixes came from Laurent Garnier, and Underworld. The weekly Tronic Radio show is being syndicated on over 120 stations worldwide and has had over 500 shows. With regards to events, Tronic has had a successful 15-week season in Ibiza at the 3000-capacity Eden super club, while also hosting arenas at established festivals, and doing over 100+ club events worldwide from Tokyo to London, Sao Paulo, and Detroit.
