<p>Fabian Argomedo makes his debut on Agile with some hip-shaking grooves and bounce galore. &#8220;Breaking Bass&#8221; boasts a crackling rhythm section complete with skipping hi-hats that never let up. Vocal snippets add the necessary high end touch while a sneaky piano loop makes its appearance subtly, and a warped crooner takes center stage and dominates the rest of the track. Label boss Uto Karem strips a few things away but adds extra percussion while keeping the affair in looped mode. The rubber-band bass makes sure no momentum is lost, and his version makes heavy use of the piano before leading us into an apocalyptic, Uto Karem-styled breakdown.</p>

Carl Cox is an industry figurehead whos legacy in music includes his iconic label Intec, which he runs with friend and business partner Jon Rundell. The new Intec release welcomes Boris who is a Russian born and NYC based DJ whose Techno sound has been in high regard since he first appeared on Dubfires revered SCI+TEC imprint. Since that release Boris has featured on labels including Octopus, Tronic, Terminal M, Suara, Toolroom Trax, Phobiq, and his own Transmit Recordings. Having been a resident at nearly every major club in his home city of New York, including venues like Pacha, Crobar, and Roxy. Boris has also travelled the world playing headline DJ sets everywhere from Womb in Japan to Space in Ibiza. Underground starts with the crunch of a heavy kick drum that cuts through the rumble of the rolling bassline. Full throttle and packed with energy, the track has a dark mood and deep atmospherics. Taking its title from the twisted vocal sample, this is dancefloor focused Techno at its best. Go Bang is pushed forward by the offbeat stab of the lead pad that lifts the track with its explosive bursts. Textured vocals chopped into looped phrases combine with fast flowing hi-hats to create the tracks fast and furious groove. Marco Resmann returns to Watergate after a productive stint at the Red Bull Music Studios in Cape Town with two stellar cuts featuring local heroes Deep Aztec and Black Soda. Tack on a remix from the one and only Oliver Huntemann and another revision from Resmann himself and you have the ‘Babylon Side’ EP.
Teaming up to kick things off, Resmann, Black Soda and Deep Aztec embrace the cultural sounds of Africa's organic percussion and vocal prowess to create a tour de force tune perfectly balance between flashing club lights and vast open skies. Following suit, ‘Abadala’ sees Marco again with Deep Aztec for a lush ride into deep emotional spaces by applying mesmerizing syncopated rhythms and spellbinding vocals ideal for deeper or more sentimental dance floor moments.

Up next is Techno legend Oliver Huntemann who, playing after Resmann earlier this year at the 15 years of Watergate event at Warung Beach Club in Brazil enjoyed his set and the two hit it off, so logically he was asked to lend his trademark sound for a revision of ‘Babylon Side’ and he twists the original into a heavy Techno belter complete with sinister sonics and fever inducing sirens. Wrapping things up is Marco Resmann himself with his own take on ‘Babylon Sides’ and delivers a wild and twisted version of gargantuan low end and psychedelic shimmers of the original vocal resulting in a killer tune with a ton of attitude.

Tronic is one of the most established and longest-running techno labels in the world. Founded in 1994 by Christian Smith while he was attending University, the label now has over 430 releases under its belt. Christian and his team have paved the way for many artists including ANNA, Dosem, Wehbba, and more recently Drunken Kong. Tronic's main philosophy is simple: nonpurist, honest, house and techno. The label has released countless of artist albums and is regularly supported by the top players in the industry. Some outstanding releases have been Christian Smith's remixes of Carl Craig's seminal 'At Les" song, which has become one of the biggest vinyl sales releases of the past decade. Other notable releases and remixes came from Laurent Garnier, and Underworld. The weekly Tronic Radio show is being syndicated on over 120 stations worldwide and has had over 500 shows. With regards to events, Tronic has had a successful 15-week season in Ibiza at the 3000-capacity Eden super club, while also hosting arenas at established festivals, and doing over 100+ club events worldwide from Tokyo to London, Sao Paulo, and Detroit.
