Alan Fitzpatrick welcomes Southampton producer Ronnie Spiteri for his sixth release on We Are The Brave; a full throttle 3 tracker sure to kick up a storm on dance-floors worldwide. 

A regular on Tronic, Mobilee and Hot Since 82's Knee Deep In Sound, Spiteri's diverse musical output spans various genres. All three tracks on his latest WATB EP are dark and tantalising. 

"Devils Dust" opens the release with its booming kickdrum and shuffling hi-hats that sandwich the dubby chords and arpeggio synth line. "Amnesia" is all about the spine-tingling lead synth, and "Red Zone" closes out the release with explosive snare rolls and a hypnotic groove.

Matt Sassari gets straight to business as he opens up with the title track, letting the snappy rhythm section lead the way while an assortment of tense synths battle each other over the rumbling sub bass. The sparser &#8220;Crak Amount&#8221; is up next, led by its rocksteady groove and otherwordly robotic stabs. Mangled, spoken-word passages simply add to the madess and sharp claps clear the air. 
 On the EP&#8217;s closer, distressed stabs come together with spacious effects, leading to a post-apocalyptic breakdown as pitched-down vocals are joined with off-kilter atmospherics for a claustrophobic ride.

We welcome Marc Marzenit for his first single on Tronic. Hailing from Catalunya, Spain, Marc has many successful releases under his belt. Ukrainian rapidly-rising talent Skober lands back on Metodiq, once again delivering ounces of groove through his brand new 'Feel This' EP!

The title track is up first, introducing us to a stomping, rumbling bass and some tasty looped-out vocals, which are followed by menacing chords that flow throughout the whole affair. Joey Beltram picks up from there with his own interpretation, pulling the gears back a notch, employing spacey electronics while adding uplifting snare rolls that provide the ultimate rises. On 'Take Your Chance' we get a taste of even more chord action, perfectly laced with sinister synths and discordant riffs which steadily progress, keeping the suspense level high.

Layton Giordani makes his Truesoul debut with a pumping, three track release. The high energy tracks showcase Layton’s youthful and fresh approach to production. ‘Unspoken’, holding a pounding kick drum and thumping techno sound, is the heavier of the three tracks whilst ‘Misunderstood’ and ‘Trusting You’ cut a lighter groove. The samples are uplifting, sounds imaginative and the percussion is tight - this EP is not to be missed.

Gradually raising the heat with every release since he landed into the techno consciousness in 2011, Alberto Tolo returns to SCI+TEC with his most dynamic dispatch to date. 

Loaded in dense, heads-down rolling techno, the young Italian producer has once again added weight to his solid, groove-heavy minimal production repertoire. Kicking off with ‘Under Water’, the downpitched vocals and seismic kicks create a delicious sense of unease that’s ideal for darker and deeper transitions. It’s followed by the uncompromised, almost gleeful kicks of ‘Freq’ where the beats adopt a more energetic, relentless groove that’s tailored perfectly for both house and techno sermons. Finally we hit ‚Faceball’ a punctuated precision cut that is swathed in pressurised pads, industrial strength beats and more roboticised voices that heighten the 3am atmosphere that the Rivigno-born artist is steadily making his signature. 

Already staples in Dubfire and the SCI+TEC alumni’s sets this summer, Alberto’s presence in the techno consciousness is getting louder with every release.

Landing 10 years after his first concept album, Wehbba’s drops his debut full-length on Drumcode, featuring collaborations with David Caretta, Thomas Gandey and Brazilian vocalist L-cio.

Following a series of globally adored EPs and inclusions within the imprint’s esteemed A-Sides compilation series, the chart-dominating São Paulo native now reflects upon his life as ‘the artist’, offering an immersive montage of stories that echo a tenacious dedication to his craft. Enlisting the talents of multi-instrumentalist Thomas Gandey, Electroclash pioneer David Carretta and fellow Brazilian L-cio, with his unparalleled flute mastery, Wehbba’s synergetic cuts span the breadth of electronic music’s sonic landscape, as he challenges the notion of genres with seasoned voices.

Birthed from the purest inspiration, the album’s 13 cuts represent a myriad of musical references close to Wehbba’s heart, running parallel with the organic sensibilities of his field recordings. An ode to eternal growth, the LP highlights a cycle of perception and projection, as Wehbba studies the morphing of genres through his own musical filter. Discussing the upcoming album, Wehbba commented:

"The musical references on these works trace back to the 90s, when I started listening to electronic music and had no judgement of what was cool - when I was totally free. So they represent, without any filter, what touched me, ranging from braindance to goa trance, from ambient to hard house, and from drum n’ bass through every single mutation of techno and house music."

As a key ambassador for Brazil’s dance music community on a global scale, Wehbba’s long-standing career has seen him affiliate with many of the industry greats on both remix and collaborative projects; testament to his flourishing reputation. Following on from the geometric-led titles of his first two albums, Straight Lines and Sharp Corners alludes to the difficult decisions and blunt shifts he has faced in his career, and their capacity to shape his identity over time. Studying the great Antoni Gaudi, Wehbba’s third LP title takes reference from his perceptive quote: "There are no straight lines or sharp corners in nature, therefore buildings must have no straight lines or sharp corners. Anything created by human beings is already in the great book of nature."

Tronic is one of the most established and longest-running techno labels in the world. Founded in 1994 by Christian Smith while he was attending University, the label now has over 430 releases under its belt. Christian and his team have paved the way for many artists including ANNA, Dosem, Wehbba, and more recently Drunken Kong. Tronic's main philosophy is simple: nonpurist, honest, house and techno. The label has released countless of artist albums and is regularly supported by the top players in the industry.
