In true bare-bone's and acoustic form, Hip-Hop artist Trop Montune & drummer Richie Rivera combine talents to perform “Cajón Flow”, a musical video short directed by RealmZ that features the organic essence of a drumbeat played on “Cajón” and captures the raw nature of rap lyrics in seamless cinematic “flow”. Making a special cameo appearance in the film is the lovely Tymisha Harris as the “getaway driver” and bringing you ariel footage from high in the skies is the Orlando, Fl based quad-copter crew the “Flying Junkies”. “Cajón Flow” provides a true-to-art visual representation of the diverse and lush soundscape being cultivated in the Central Florida area.

‎Cajón Flow‬

“The Snapback”, the first single since his debut solo album “For My People”. The highly anticipated single arrives with a much lighter feel than his previous work and continues the ongoing collaboration with music producer Abdias Ernesto Garcia.

“The Snapback is a personal account about the simple and uncontrollable nature of the creative process” says the young artist. The songs simple approach lends itself to delivering a solid performance that will surely become a gem in the ever changing game of Hip Hop.

The Snapback

Trop Montune is a wordsmith whose thirst for expression and individuality first made its home in the beats and culture of Florida’s indie music scene. Born in Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, his family migrated to Orlando where he teamed up with fellow MC and childhood friend Francisco Perez to form the Hip Hop duo Logic N’ Tropik. The bilingual acrobatics and dynamic stage presence of the duo soon proved to be a hit amongst Orlando’s Hip Hop scene and sparked the interests of several producers such as Miami’s renowned Diaz Brothers. The duo released a self-titled E.P. and were featured on several mix-tapes, but the collaboration would eventually take a transformative turn with the departure of his lyrical partner. Fully determined to press-on, this former Marine quickly began to reinvent himself by partnering with producer Abdias Ernesto Garcia and his newly created indie label Tacatantán Records. The result was the birth of Trop Montune and the musical exploration that would become his first solo release “For My People” (2011). “For My People” reflects the uncompromising spirit of a Hispanic man, artist, and visionary. His passions were carefully crafted into a uniquely exciting and seamless blend of poetry delivered with sharpshooter precision on eclectically contagious beats. Following the release of his full length album, Trop made special appearances on the nationally syndicated television show the Daily Buzz and also at the Los Angeles Film Festival in which he premiered the placement of his song “Que Pasara” in the indie film “The House That Jack Built”. Since his solo debut, Trop and his team have been planting seeds on a grass root level to cultivate a loyal fan base and gain community support from the ground up with breakthrough performances at the House of Blues Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, the 116th Street Festival in New York City and headlining B.B. King’s Blues Club in Pointe Orlando. Trop continues to build with music lovers and Hip Hop communities worldwide while expanding on themes close to his heart and creating a new sonic imprint. "The Snapback", the first single since the release of “For My People” arrives with a much lighter feel and takes the listener through a personal account illustrating the simple and uncontrollable nature of the creative process. Staying “on the beat and path” in the ever changing rap game, Trop teams up with longtime collaborator and versatile singer-songwriter Jae Pezz from Summit 103 to forge a “clash of titans” sound and drop the bleacher stomping anthem of the season "Golden Night". With notable features on Okayafrica.com and Loyatly Digital Corp’s “WWE-P” (2014) music compilation, the future looks promising for the ever evolving songwriter as he is currently working on delivering new work in 2015. Trop is a force to watch for as an innovator in the world of Hip Hop and someone who is not afraid to take musical risks to get his point across.
